Bedlam the Brain Blast was getting quite used to time travelling to find the lost Alphans and former Omegans. Now his sight was set on Roger Bochs. He was a paraplegic who had died years ago after he was a member of Alpha Flight. He had created a suit of armor like Iron Man which he called Box. He first controlled it by remote control, then he was able to ‘phase’ into it. After he died after becoming merged with Scramble, the Mixed Up Man to become the flesh terror called Omega, Madison Jeffries adopted his Box armor but modified it.

Now, Bedlam’s plan was to resurrect the dead Roger Bochs. Or at least that was of the now-alive Jerry Jaxon who had adopted the Box armor as his own.

It was the late eighties, the end of another decade of excess, and another member of Alpha Flight was about to die. Right now, the remainder of Alpha Flight was battling Omega in their Tamarind Headquarters. Nortshtar was dying and the Purple Girl was slowing falling in love with the newest member of Alpha Flight, Manikin, Whitman Knapp, Lionel Jeffries’ lab assistant.

Knapp had the ability to summon forth his past and future selves. Highbrow (the ultimate evolution of himself), Ape man (his devolved self), and Proto (himself as an amorphous shape). He was using his powers to destroy Omega with the rest of Alpha Flight.

Purple Girl was hit, and Knapp went to see if she was all right. It was love at first sight. They stared into the other’s eyes and they stared for long minutes, not saying a word to each other.

“I think I can stop him, I mean them,” Purple Girl said, shakey. She was scared spitless but she had to do something. Kara Killgrave had the same powers as her father, the Purple Man. Her skin a purplish tinge, she had the ability to make whomever she commanded to do what she said. Simply, the powers of persuasion.

She said, stop!

Omega stopped, for a second. And only a second.

Omega recovered and the tub of lard let loose a tentacle and lashed at Kara.

“Knapp, make Apeman throw me into Box,” Madison Jeffries, now a deformed being, deformed by Omega, said, as he looked at the suit of armor.

“Oh, I get it. Sure, Mr. Jeffries.”

Ape man lifted up Jeffries and hurled the being into Box.

“You killed my best friend, you gruesome son of a bitch, now you die!” Madison Jeffries transformed Box into its most modern state and shot his machine gun arm at Omega.

Omega exploded.

Bedlam, invisible to all, smiled, and laughed, inwardly. Before the blast hit Omega, Bedlam mentally extracted the two beings that were fused to become Omega and all that the machine gun bullets hit was the opposite wall, thus creating the dust and rubble that Box and Alpha Flight mistakingly thought was Omega.

Bedlam, Roger Bochs, and Lionel Jeffries passed through time and space to the HQ of Jaxon-Courtney, Inc.

Lake Ontario

“Marry, tell me this isn’t happening again? Tell me this isn’t true, eh?” Puck said, as he edged on the beach front as Marrina unleashed her claws to rip and shred her best friend to ribbons.

“Oh, yes, Puckie. Marrina is one mean bitch, now!”

Dei Guan lifted Puck off the ground and carried him to safety. “Judd, what the hell is going on? That’s not Marrina, is it? It has to be a clone or something.”

“No, that’s Marry all right. And she has a mad-on for everything that resembles Alpha Flight, which includes us and everyone on this beach.”

“So, what are we gonna do? We can’t fight her, can we?”

“We’re gonna have to, eh? We have no choice in the matter, now, do we?”

“Puck, stay here. I’m going to try to reason with her.”

“Dei, you can’t reason with her. She’s beyond reason.”

“I’m sorry, Judd. But I have to. I’m probably the only one who can get through to her.”

Puck didn’t want to tell him that there was one other who could calm her down and possibly reverse whatever hold the Master had on her. And that person was himself. He gulped down some saliva and air, as he prayed that Dei Guan knew what he was doing, because if he didn’t, or if he didn’t change into the Jade Dragon in time, he was as doomed as the rest of them.

Dei approached Marrina who was hungry to kill some Alphans and reclaim her place as leader of Omega Flight. “Marrina, why are you doing this? We’re your friends and friends don’t hurt each other. Do you recognize me? I’m Dei Guan and I love you.’

“Don’t patronize me, bastard!!”

Marrina lunged at Dei Guan about to rake her claws at his defenseless form. But Dei changed into the Jade Dragon just in time.

“I don’t care how big you are or what you can change yourself into, I will kill you just the same.”

“Big words for such a small woman.” The Jade Dragon hated to do this but he used his fiery breath, knowing that she would jump out of the way just in time. “Marrina, don’t make us fight you.”

Marrina spit out blood as she hit her jaw when she fell. “Why, it’s much more fun that way.”

“Puck, I think I may need some help here,” the Jade Dragon said, in fear.

“Comin’ right atcha,” Puck said, as he hurled himself in the air and kicked Marrina in the head. But that only made her more angry.

Then, Marrina lifts Puck up by both hands and hurls him against a tree and knocks him unconscious.

Marrina is wearing a headset and hears the Master’s voice coming into earshot.

“Return to base. Now, Marrina. They are ready. You can conitnue that fight in a couple more minutes.”

“Over and out.”

Marrina turns away from the wounded Puck and the surprised Alphans and Betans and disappears into the waters.

The Master’s Ship

A hatch opened and Marrina walked inside her master’s ship. Her master, her lover, was waiting for her inside with the rest of Omega Flight.

“What do you want, Master of the World? Who is ready?”

The Master smiled. “The Plodex is ready. They have arrived. And then, you can join them as their rightful heir.”

“I thought they were dead. How can they be here?”

“No, only the ones who have initially planted their seeds on Earth died in reentry. But they have colonized other planets in this star system and other star systems in other galaxies. They will inherit this planet as their own. And we will reap the rewards of their conquering.”

Marrina was not as excited over this plan as the Master was. She was hesitant. “No. I hurt Puck, my best friend. I’ve got to go see him. I did bad things to Alpha Flight. This is wrong.”

“Boss, the drug is wearing off,” Strongarm warned him.

“Do not worry about it. I have another.” The Master took out another hypo and approached Marrina. “Oh, Marrina, dear Marrina, come here. I have a present for you.’

“No, this is wrong. I want to go back to Alpha Flight.” Marrina knew that what was happening to her was evil and she had to escape somehow. “I know you. You’re the Master. You used me. You used me before. It won’t work.’

“This will certainly not do. Open the hatch, Strongarm, and deal with her." The Master returned the hypo to its holding cell.

With the hatch open, Strongarm slugged the confused Marrina onto the beach. She was weak and drained.

Strongarm turned to the Master. “Now what, boss?”

“Now we prepare for the invasion of the Earth by the Plodex and one other factor.”

“And what factor is that, boss?”

“The Plodex will take over Canada and Earth, as well, as is their birthright. But I have other factor that I have been planning for years since I first found Marrina among Alpha Flight. I will release a whole army of Marrina clones to fight Alpha and Beta Flight, while the Plodex attack Canada. And it will be sweet.”

“And what do you expect us to do in the meantime, boss?”

“Wait for the end of the world.”
