A hotel in Vancouver Jerry Jaxon sat on his hotel bedroom bed, watching his lover and business associate Delphine Courtney slip into her power suit. It was months since the destruction of their office building in Toronto; the J-C Building. That was where their headquarters were, where they trained their new Gamma Flight, the loose remnants of Alpha and the former Omega Flights. Their most recent acquisition was Bedlam, the Brain Blast. He had incredible mental powers, telepathy, telekinesis, etc. But he was captured by Guardian, the only person who could neutralize his mental telepathy and the object of all their hate. The Derangers, Bedlam's team of paranormal assassins, were useless without Bedlam. During his absence, from the time that Jaxon's HQ was destroyed, Bedlam had been known to be a leader of another band of criminals, the Pirate and the Pirate Brigade. They were captured, too. They needed to be freed, also. Without a place to stay, Jaxon, Courtney, and Gamma Flight were staying at this hotel. Jaxon was a millionaire and a robot to boot so that he could afford to stay here until he could go home. Jaxon put on his black rimmed glasses and admired his assistant's beauty. "You look beautiful," he hissed. "I know," she said, nodding her assent. "When do we go into action again? I particularly want to show Guardian and Heather how we Gammas deal with Alphan annoyances." "Soon, soon." There was a knock on the door. "That should be them," Jaxon said, as he nodded to Courtney to answer the door. But before she could open it, Gardner Fox pushed the door and in walked the combined membership of Gamma Flight. Flashback, Roger Bochs, Scramble, the Mixed Up Man, the Derangers, and Smart Alec. They had large grins upon their faces. They were ready for battle. Bedlam was clearly the most powerful member of the team and they wanted his freedom so that they could really give it to Alpha Flight. "So, boss, you called us," Flashback said, happily. "When do we leave?" Jaxon smiled. "We leave now. And soon Guardian will know the error of his ways by trying to capture one of our own." The Combat Room in the Alpha Complex "Okay, Deltans," Walter Langkowski said, clad in a jean shirt and slacks. "The object of this little game is to attack me with everything that you got and make it to the other side of the room. That is, in one piece and not let me pass you." "This should be simple," Scott Sherman said, as he pointed both index fingers at Walter. His hands were shaped like hand guns and then he fired them at Walter's helpless form. The laser energy that was housed within his body frankly cut the lab scientist to ribbons. His clothes were in tatters and his entire body was smoking from the attack. "Scottie, I'm scared," said a defenseless Stacy Holland. "Is his alive?" "I don't know, I didn't think, I-" Walter looked up at Delta Flight, his face a mask of torture and pain. His eyes white, Walter started to change. First, his skin turned an orange-like hue and his remaining clothes started to rip and tear until it literally fell off of him with ease. He was Sasquatch, the living man-beast. "Walter, Sas, are you okay?" Ghost Girl said. "That ees right, Waltair," Murmur said. "WE are your friends. Talk to us." 'I am not Walter Langkowski," Sasquatch roared. "I am the Great Beast, Tanaraq. It was a simple matter for one such as I to take control of the idiot human. That is why he lost control of the beast." 'Uh, Deltans," Stephan Gregg started. "I think we better tell the rest of Alpha about this. But first, I think I should show Tanaraq the light." Before the Great Beast can attack Delta Flight, Stephan Gregg gestures with outstretched arms and shoots forth blinding light into the eyes of Sasquatch. Tanaraq stumbles back to back wall, roaring in pain after being blinded by the pure white light of goodness. When the light was gone, all of the Deltans saw that Tanaraq had changed back into Walter Langkowski. An unconscious Langkowski.
"Is he all right?" the Deltans asked. "What happened to him?" They were in the Infirmary of the Alpha Complex, and Shaman was standing over the prone form of Walter Langkowski. Walter was dressed only in his shorts, what he wore during his Sasquatch form. "It seemed that somehow that the Great Beast Tanaraq has channeled his spirit through Walter's body. I don't know how he was able to do this without some sort of mystical being to provoke it but it occurred." "Anything you suggest, Michael?" Guardian asked. Shaman frowned. "Nothing short of an exorcism." "And that's where I come in," Talisman said. She stepped into the room and approached Walter. Shaman gave him a mild anaesthetic so that he would be asleep while this took place. She ordered everyone to exit the room, besides Shaman. They all complied. Once the door closed and she dimmed the lights, Talisman gestured, powering up. Then, a red glow enveloped Walter's unconscious form. There seemed to have been an implosion of the mind and body and then Tanaraq escaped through his spirit form. He encircled the two heroes. He was ready to attack them through spiritual means. "You humans shall perish," Tanaraq said, baring his Sasquatch claws to rend them. "Especially you, Talisman, of the prophesy." "I don't think so," Talisman said, gesturing again with her fingers and opening a doorway to another dimension. "Shaman, Father, do what you must." Shaman reached into his medicine pouch, taking out some dust, and used them to fling the creature into the doorway. Shaman turned on the lights and suddenly, all of Alpha, Beta, and Delta Flights entered the room again. Thye were worried over Walter. "What happened?" Guardian asked. "Simple," Talisman said. "It seems that somehow Tanaraq was channeling his spirit through Walter and that caused Walter to lose control of his Sasquatch form. Now, with him gone to another dimension, Walter should be free of it."
Outside the Alpha Complex, there was danger a'brewing. Jerry Jaxon, Delphine Courtney, the Derangers, and Gamma Flight stood on a grassy knoll, about to break all the prisoners in Alpha Flight's Canadian Paranormal Prison out of jail. "Freakout, you have the point," Jaxon said, barking out orders as he was born to do that little thing. "Show those Alphans what we Gammas can do." Not speaking in the slightest degree, Freakout acknowledged his master's orders and ran staright for the wall to the entrance of the Prison at the Alpha Complex. When he got there, he clenched his fists and punched a literal hole in the wall. There was a large KRAKOOM! When he made his impact. Success was in his favor and soon, all the prisoners would be free and in Jaxon's employ. Large klaxons were heard loudly throughout the whole complex as the Alphans came out of their rooms and came racing to the rescue. The first Alphan to meet Freakout was Snowbird who had by now changed into her white Sasquatch form. She reached for the Deranger strongman but Freakout had hurled her against a panel of computer banks. This only enraged her fury. Snowbird was soon consumed by the beast of Tanaraq when she assumed this form. The battle raged on. Then, Breakdown entered the Alpha Complex and approached the Control Center where the computers controlled the locks on the cells. The prisoners were chanting a mantra for these newcomers to set them free. That was Breakdown's plan, after all. Breakdown exploded, for her power was to cause an explosion of her body only to reconfigure hdrself seconds later. The explosion on the computer mainframe unit caused these cells to automatically open and free the captured prisoners. As the prisoners, led by Llan and Gamma Flight and the Derangers, fled the premises, Snowbird recovered from her bout with Freakout and Breakdown and alerted the rest of the Flight. All she could see through the smoke and haze was the prisoners flying in a force bubble into the horison. It was all they could do to contain their rage, their unbridled fury, of wanting to chase after them and make them pay for the damage that they had wrought.
