PREVIOUSLY IN ALPHA FLIGHT: After the Dream Queen had entered the minds of various members of Alpha Flight, she had turned back the clock in their minds to the point in their history of the wedding of Sasquatch and Aurora. But Talisman was able to pull them out of the dream before the Dream Queen did too much damage. Now, the Dream Queen has another go at it. The apartment of Sasquatch and Aurora As summer kicked into full gear, Walter Langkowski finally realized that he was getting married. Again. Ever since he divorced his first wife, he vowed never to get married again. The Linda Ronstadt song, 'I Will Never Marry' never had any more meaning than now. When he had become a bachelor again, he met and fell in love with Jeanne-Marie Beaubier when he joined Alpha Flight. It was love at first sight. He never held much stock in that saying before but it was true for him. She was everything that he could hope for in a woman. She was beautiful beyond his wildest dreams. She was more beautiful than his first wife. And the sex with her was simply on a goddess scale. She was meant to be kissed and pampered. He would do anything for her. Then, Jean-Paul came into the picture. Jean-Paul Beaubier was her twin brother. He was a wimp, a sissy, and a perfect mama's boy. Or in her case, a sister's boy who couldn't be separated from her. On the other hand, he never seemed to want to bring her happiness. Just as Jeanne-Marie had men following her everywhere, Jean-Paul also liked to romance men of his choice. About ten years ago, he came out of the closet. He announced his homosexuality to the world. That didn't help his manners any. Walter Langkowski lay naked on the water bed, his legs spread wide apart, ready for a night of sexual frenzy. On the other side of the room stood Jeanne-Marie Beaubier, also naked. He pointed one finger at her, indicating her to join him on the bed. She laughed, giggling like a happy go lucky school kid, not the mature adult she was, and jumped on top of him. "How touching." Jeanne-Marie was the first one to recognize the voice. It belonged to a tall man, with the same physical features as Jeanne-Marie. It was Jean-Paul. "How dare you sneak up on me like that? What do you want?" "I have come here to talk you out of this marriage. He's not good enough for you." "He is good enough for me." "If you feel that way, then you leave me no choice. I am leaving Alpha Flight and I won't be coming to your wedding." He paused, and then, whispered, 'Not that you invited me anyway.' In a blur, he was gone. As if he was never there. Jeanne-Marie placed her long fingernails on Walter's hairy chest and squeezed. She then bowed her head down, her long silver hair covering her face. She brushed it back. "I guess that's the end of that," Walter said. "I don't know what I am going to do with him. I really wanted him to come to the wedding but I knew how he would react." "Don't worry about it. He's gone. He couldn't take it. End of story. Now, we can get married in peace." The two love birds kissed like passionate lovers.
Diamond Lil's and Madison Jeffries' Quarters Lillian Crawley was asleep on her bed, in the wee hours of the morning. Next to her slept Madison Jeffries. In recent weeks, she had been given to doubts surrounding her marriage to Madison. She was slowly falling in love with the new member of the team, Kamikaze. He professed his love to her weeks ago when they kissed in the Combat Room, their training facility. Madison saw the whole thing. He was devastated and he voiced her fears that Kamikaze was in love with her and one day she would leave Madison for Harada. She was simply beside herself. She didn't know what to do. She had already approached Harada, telling him that their love can never be. But he was determined to make her his. She sat up on her bed, simply worrying. Her legs were bent and tucked into her chest. What was she going to do about this? She asked herself. What indeed? She supposed she could talk to Harada again but what good would it do? He was convinced that their love was meant to be. Her door was closed. But she saw a light turn on in the hallway and a note being pushed into the crack. At first she didn't see it but then she recognized it. Trying not to wake Madison, she got up from the bed and picked up the note. It was written in very legible handwriting on notebook paper. She read it; Dear Lillian, I am sorry that I kissed you the other day. I realize that you are happily married to Madison and I wouldn't want to break up that marriage. But I also realize that it is not good for the team if we pursue this relationship. So I am leaving the team for good. I will try to make it as a super hero on my own. Don't try to follow me or look for me because I may not stay in Canada. Thank you for trying to reform me. You have been a great inspiration to me. I have very fond memories of you and my time in Alpha Flight. Good bye and fare you well. Kamikaze For several moments, she held the letter in her hand. She couldn't believe it. She felt a lump in her throat. She knew that Madison would be thrilled at the idea of Kamikaze leaving because she was never quite happy with the idea of Kamikaze joining the team. Once a criminal, always a criminal, was his motto. She folded the letter in half, placed it on the vanity, and tried to go back to sleep. The Kamikaze Affair was finally over. She hoped that he was indeed happy in his new place.
The Sarcee Reserve Hospital In the office of Dr. Michael Twoyoungmen, M.D., a meeting is taking place between three powerful mystics, the Alphans called Shaman, Talisman, and Snowbird. Shaman is in his civilian guise, in fact the other two young women are, too. This is a meeting that had taken place months before when the lost Alphan, Marrina, was found to be among the living again. Talisman and Snowbird had revealed to Shaman that they wanted to leave the team, for a time, because they wanted simply to lead normal lives. Now something similar happens. "So, you are thinking of leaving the team again?" Michael asks the two women. Elizabeth, Michael's natural born daughter, steps forward to answer the heartfelt question with a quick response. She is one of stunning beauty. "I was thinking now that the Evil Mystic Affair is over and done with Llan stuck in Live World and the rest of his cohorts trapped in your medicine pouch we can take a little vacation after Walter and Jeanne-Marie's wedding." "I think that would be a splendid idea, daughter o' mine," Michael says. A brief smile creeps up on his face as the idea of a time away from the hustle and bustle of Alpha Flight comes to his mind. He has seen enough action of late that now he would like to have a nice vacation of fun and relaxation. "What think you, Narya?" Narya looks up at both people. "I think that would be a grand idea. I could use a time away from Alpha Flight. But I would like to return to my duties as RCMP officer. There is a certain man waiting for me there." "Romantic involvement?" Elizabeth asks, a happy expression upon her face. Narya smiles, surprised that she could have any kind of romantic ties in her life right now. "You could say that." "Then, it's settled," Michael says, picking up the pager in his office. "I'll have my secretary contact Mr. Gentry."
