"They are far from dead I assure you and they're fully intact. They seemed to be a little roughed up, but interdimensional travel can do that to you," Blink said teasing Dark Beast with hints of how she came upon Ahab and Shinobi. "I can see you want to tell me how you came upon them. It's pouring out of your little eyes. So instead of playing your games explain yourself," Dark Beast said getting straight to the point. He didn't have time for games because in a short time he was launching a crucial and final assault against the very woman he was speaking to. Blink huffed a little at Dark Beast's impatient, but continued on, "Callisto and some of my other agents found the two a couple of weeks ago only a few miles away from my complex. We immediately took them in hoping they were some of your people. After numerous tests we found they weren't even in this reality until only a few hours before we found them. Then we conducted a few more tests and found that whoEver had them did something very unique to them." "Unique? In what way?" Dark Beast inquired. "It appears that their powers have been pushed to their next level by some mysterious type of graft. And when I say pushed to the next level I mean pushed to the next level!" Blink exclaimed. "So what are you trying to propose Blink?" Dark Beast asked bluntly. "You come to my base ALONE if you wish to retrieve them. I'll give you two hours and then I'll personally deliver the sons of bitches to Apocalypse himself," Blink said in her thick Russian accent. Against his better judgment and under the control of overwhelming curiosity Dark Beast replied, " You can expect me there." With Dark Beast's expected answer Blink began to laugh a deep and dark laugh within the bowels of her twisted and perverted soul. She should have thought of this sooner. Dark Beast's own hubris was his curiosity and need to find perfection. McCoy turned off the image of Blink. The woman truly sickened him. She was such a devout servant of Apocalypse that even her own judgment was blinded. Perhaps Apocalypse didn't tell his people how deadly a force Dark Beast could be solo. Maybe Blink would have to be the one to deliver the message that he was coming for Apocalypse's head with all speed. Flipping on the base's intercom Dark Beast announced, "Plans have been slightly changed people. Information has just come in that an attack on Blink's base would be utterly useless for our goals at the present time. All forces will be concentrated on the human camp itself. Let's free these people and maybe gain a couple hundred more people in this little resistance. Dark Beast out." Across the base there were exchanged looks of confusion and surprise from all of Dark Beast's charges. In the little time they knew McCoy he rarely changed a plan. He added on parts to it sure, but it was still basically always the original plan. He was egotistical that he was sure his plans were always right from the get go. So to see him change them sent a wave of emotions over his people. An Hour Later at the Front Gate of the Human Camp "Here they come!" Ever yelled as the gates of the camp opened unleashing the mutants of Blink's, Apocalypse Dawn division upon them. You could hear the crashing of the two armies meeting. There was much yelling and the smell of sweat filled the air. A short green mutant sneaked up behind Ever and jumped on the former Morlock's back. Electricity immediately flowed through Ever's body and since he was made up of mostly brain matter tissue the pain inflicted on him was all the greater. Ever fighting through a great amount of hurting reached back and grabbed the horn headed of the mutant. With a strong arm he slammed the mutant into the ground. On the instant it hit the ground it broke up into a hundred smaller little green freaks. "This just keeps getting better and better," Ever sighed as the little monsters laughed hideously. Suddenly, they all unleashed long electro-whips from their horns wrapping them around the body of Ever. Unable to move all Ever could do was scream as the electricity coursed through his body. Captain Britain was overhead as he saw the distress Ever was in. He flew immediately to the point where he could see the green midgets and with a swipe of his hand his telekinesis imploded all their heads in. Ever fell to the ground on hand and knee as smoke rose from his body. Just as Captain Britain was about to get Ever to his feet a massive blue energy blast hit him knocking Forger out of the sky. He hit the ground with a hard thump. The blast had come from Nupiz who was about a hundred yards away. The Doomguards had arrived. While the arrival of the Doomguards became evident to everyone else on the battlefield Ever struggled to recover from the attack he had just suffered, but he knew he had to stay strong because he was needed. Every last man was needed in this battle. Yvonne McCoy turned off the screen as she stared out in front of her class. Slowly she said, "That was only a tiny bit of the recordings from the last battle of the Great Earth War. That very war is the reason we're here on the planet of Io today." "Aren't you a descendant of Dark Beast?" a student shouted from in back of the class. "Indeed I am. I'm not proud of my lineage, but it is there nonetheless. Dark Beast is my great-great grandfather. He was quite the ruthless man and he raped my great-great grandmother," Yvonne explained. "Who all survived the Great Earth War?" an Asian girl in front of Yvonne asked. "Many survived the war, but the ones that lead us to Io were; Dark Beast, Gambit, Leech, Marrow, Tsar, and Lady Deathstrike. Thanos had taken them to Io to build a new world of super powered beings. Obviously the attempt failed," Yvonne said as she pulled out a black stick from behind her back. Pressing a red button on the center of the stick a holographic image of Io came up. Yvonne took a deep breath and began her lecture on the Thanos Liberation, "250 years after working under Thanos the people of Io rebelled against the cosmic madman. With the first attack on Base 2144 the Thanos Liberation began. We could not have won this war alone though. Does anyone know who we got help from?" A boy with green scales next to the Asian girl raised his hand and said quite enthusiastically, "The Titan Eternals, Adam Warlock, and the Silver Surfer helped us to beat back Thanos." Ms. McCoy nodded and continued on, "Once we got their help the tide
of the war turned against Thanos quickly, but the old man wasn't going
to go down without a fight. He soon began a clone war of sorts. One of
my ancestors, Luke McCoy, became a traitor and gave Thanos a large amount
of DNA. Thanos then used this DNA to create an army of clones. This put
a major cramp in the war against Thanos." Earth 616 Supreme Evolutionary sat back and looked at the universe before him. He looked over to Deathbird and said, "This is one universe where a piece of the Celestial Puzzle is hidden. I believe it is inside that Yvonne woman. Don't you?" Deathbird rose up from her chair, "Perhaps Evolutionary. Do you suggest we go after her then?" Supreme Evolutionary laughed, "In time Deathbird. Don't be so hasty. First I want to see where the other Celestial Puzzle pieces are hidden first." "Of course," Deathbird said with a nod. "Besides we still have things to do in this universe before we go dabble in another one," Supreme Evolutionary said as he shut off the screen that showed him an image of the futuristic world he had just looked into. "Like find the Celestial Ring," Deathbird commented. She was growing impatient in the search for this fabled weapon. Supreme Evolutionary grinned again, "Patient my dear Deathbird. Finding the Celestial weapons and forming the Celestial Guard will take time. I assure you once they are both found the universe will be without a doubt better off. Nothing like what happened to your people will ever happen again." "So you say. So you say," Deathbird replied. |
