Ageless Fury"

Jean Grey, Thor, Dr. Strange, Cloak and Dagger were doing their best trying to hold off the Enforcers. They were the special Sentinels under the control of Apocalypse. All they did was bring two thing wherever they treaded; death and devastation. The remaining heroes of the Earth had long given up hope that they would destroy all the Enforcers. They could only hope to hold them off. "We really could use the Avengers right now?" Cloak said gloomily. The remaining heroes had all been devastated by the deaths of the Avengers, Franklin Richards and Wolfsbane by the Legacy Virus. Phoenix ignored Cloak's comment and kept pressing the attack against the Enforcers. She was using her telekinesis to rip off the limbs and heads of the robotic Enforcers. Thor was battering as many of the giant hunters as he could with his Mjolnir. Cloak was being a defensive mechanism using his cloak to take in the blasts of the Enforcers. So far it was proving to be an effective defense. Dagger was battering as many of the robots as she could with her light daggers. Dr. Strange was using his magic to increase the potency of the daggers so they exploded the Enforcers on impact. Even with all of this the heroes were, despite their best efforts, being pushed into a corner. Thor realizing what was about to happen said what he thought would be his last words. "It has been a great pleasure working with all of you. Verily I have never believed I have met greater souls," Thor said. "The same to you too," Phoenix said wishing Cyclops was with her now. When it seemed all hope was lost to them a deafening blast was heard. Thor looked up to see his father Odin with some of his fellow Asgardians and a good deal of Enforcers wrecked. "Son I hath truly grown tired of thee foul Apocalypse," Odin said. Thor knew why Odin was tired of Apocalypse. Apocalypse had invaded the realms of Asgard and Olympus with genetic beasts created by the geneticist Dark Beast. The beasts ravaged the Realm Eternal and Odin joined in the fight against Apocalypse. "I think we should be heading back to base," Phoenix said. She was tired of this fight and wanted to rest. In all honesty she just wanted this war with Apocalypse to be over with. That wasn't the case unfortunately and the way it looked it wouldn't be the case for a long time to come. Jean stayed strong by holding on to memories of her family and those she held the dearest. "We will be lucky if there is even a base to go back to," Dr. Strange said sarcastically. "If only the Calling would have worked we wouldn't be in this mess," Phoenix said cursing herself. "It's not your fault what happened .you know that right?" Dagger said trying to comfort Phoenix. It didn't do a very good job. When the heroes got back to base they found Cannonball, Namor, Mr. Sinister, Callisto, Medusa and Bishop in what was the War Room. "Phoenix, L.A., New Orleans and Laveteria have all been annihilated today. It's like our efforts are doing nothing at all," Cannonball said disheartened. "You can't lose hope yet Sam. We can still pull this off," Phoenix said trying to comfort Sam when she was in need of some comforting herself. Three cities and a country all destroyed in one day. If there was anything they all needed it was a miracle. Apocalypse was like a tornado. He wasn't going to stop till he got everything he wanted and more. "Did you destroy those Enforcers?" Bishop asked Phoenix trying to keep everyone in the matters of business. "Actually yes, we did destroy them with a little assist from hey where did Odin go he was just here a few minutes ago!" Phoenix said puzzled. "My father hath strange ways he willst return when we are in most
need of him," Thor said "Actually yes we are. Mr. Sinister's Riptide clones took back Paris from the Pale Riders today. Blink and Sabertooth single-handedly stopped an invasion by Holocaust and some of Dark Beast's mutates. Magneto forced Apocalypse's troops once again out of Genosha meaning that Genosha is the only country that has yet to be touched by Apocalypse in a major way," Bishop reported. Hearing all of what he was saying made Bishop angry inside. He thought had escaped his horrible future long ago. Now it seemed like the world was hitting the replay button on him. "As if that is enough. You all will obviously need my help," a man said stepping out of a portal. "IMMORTUS! Fiend what business hath thou here!" Thor shouted ruthlessly. "Well I can offer you two things. The use of my almost endless supply of troops and the cure to the Legacy Virus, but it comes at a price," Immortus said grinning wickedly. He knew the remaining heroes of the Earth would not turn away his offer. They were too desperate and that made them the perfect toys. "There always has to be a catch," Medusa said annoyed. "Of course my dear Medusa. All of you have to let me drain the evil that lives in your hearts into my bodies," Immortus explained. "That's it! Sure you can have my evil," Cannonball exclaimed eagerly not fully knowing what Immortus was asking, but honestly he didn't care. "No wait this has to benefit Immortus in some way. So do you mind telling us how this will benefit you?" Bishop asked. "It will allow me to become a much more ruthless leader. I have become soft as of late," Immortus snickered. "I seriously doubt this, but fine I think we all pretty much agree," Phoenix said. Everyone nodded his or her heads. "Good, but first I have to fulfill my part of the bargain," Immortus said handing Bishop a vial indicating it was a cure to the Legacy Virus. "All you have to do is release it into the air. It is an airborne cure," Immortus explained. "Excellent," Bishop said as he opened the vial releasing the cure into the air. He wasn't how sure it would spread, but Bishop now knew there was hope for the future. It was kind of sad for him to think that the future had so horribly effected the past. "Now what about your army part of the bargain," Callisto reminded Immortus. "Of course my dear they are entering this dimension as we speak,"
Immortus said. Salem, Massachusetts The army of Immortus had arrived into this devastated city. Samuel Bridge, the leader of his regiment, was the first to step through the bronze colored dimensional portal that ripped open in the middle of this city. He surveyed the area and was somewhat saddened by it. On his dimension his mother, the heroine Sabra, gave birth to him in this city. He also knew that it was here where he first met his father, G.W. Bridge, for the first time at the age of 12. When Samuel agreed to become a part of Immortus's armies his Salem was spared. Obviously Apocalypse wasn't that generous. "Survey the area and do it quickly! Immortus wants this area cleared of any forces of Apocalypse! Kill with extreme prejudice," Samuel ordered as he pulled out a small red gun that looked strangely like a cricket. "You heard the commander! Fan out," Black Knight, Samuel's second-in-command, exclaimed as she unleashed her Ebony Blades. Samuel had been there when she got her second Ebony Blade when she killed another female Black Knight opposed to her on Earth-876. Samuel couldn't be for sure. Of course the fact this Black Knight had elemental powers didn't hurt too much either. "Always the girl scout I see Ororo," Bruno Shaw said to Black Knight as he turned his body into diamond and directed his squad to search an old burnt down drug store. If there was one person Samuel just wished would keel over it's got to be Bruno. The guy is an arrogant jerk to the tenth degree. If he's not talking about how cute he is then he's talking about how good of a fighter he is and if he's not talking about either of those then he's got to be dogging someone else. Only reason he made the guy a squad leader was so he could do something stupid and get shot. "Who dares defy Apocalypse?!!" a voice yelled from above. Upon looking up Mr. Bridge saw a flash of metal wings and before he knew it he had two metal darts in both his shoulders. Samuel dropped his weapon and cried out in pain. The darts were sending a small, but effective, electric shock throughout his body. "Thee Horsemen of Death tis upon us! Take to arms!" Anora yelled as she launched herself into the air. Samuel knew that Anora was taking a risk hitting Death head to head. While she did have the power to absorb the powers and memories of anyone she touched she still might not be packing enough juice. Why do all Asgardians have to be so dang arrogant? She wasn't even a true Asgardian really. On many other worlds she is known as the mutant Rogue. Earth 616 "They are quite the fools you know that Deathbird," Supreme Evolutionary said. "And why would that be Evolutionary?" "They give their evil to Immortus and they will be extreme pacifists. They won't even want to argue about what to eat let alone fight a war," Supreme Evolutionary. "The affairs of other universes are none of my business. I just want to know who has the Celestial piece in this universe," Deathbird said rudely. "Anora has the piece. It is her we must capture." |
