Amazing Spider-Man

Issue #3

by Cory Wiegel

Bitten by a radioactive spider while in high school, Peter Parker gained the comparative strength, speed, and agility of a spider, as well as the ability to cling to walls and a
Spider-Man

As Peter rushed into his apartment, his eyes grew large as he noticed what had happened.
The room had been completely cleared out. Nothing at all had been left. To many of you,
this scene may seem familiar.*

[*See last issue for details--Drew]

Peter began to dodge left and right quickly, looking all around his apartment. Words were
scribled all over the floor in red paint. "I know who you are?" Peter read to himself,
shaking his head in disbelief. "This is definately not good."

Running over to the kitchen, looking for anything that might have possibly been left
behind. The fridge, table, everything was gone. He then looked to the stove, which was
on mysteriously, low. There was a note.

"TO: Peter
Turn stove on high for the answer you are seeking."

He arched a brow to the note. Not even considering what may be in the oven, he turned
the knob. Leaning back into the wall, he watched the stove. All of a sudden, he realized
he should check the stove.

Pulling the oven door open, he spotted four Spray Cans. His Spider-Sense struck him like
a frait train. He quickly leaped out of the kitchen doorway, sliding to a stop near the
window, he pushed off into a jump, throwing himself through the window.

The apartment blew up in a red mist as Peter is revealed to be hanging from the fire-
escape railing. His apartment in flames, which slowly begins to take it's toll on the
remaining of the building.

A fire engine, which just happened to be driving by swerved to a stop to the building.
They quickly went to work, setting up their equipment. Peter had quickly moved to the
alleyway, slightly shocked.

How could all this happen? he thought to himself as he peeked around the corner. The
fire had been sudued easily with the quick work of the fire-department.

"Well the Fire-Department's got everything handled, but who's behind all this?" His dark
brown trench coat flowed behind him as he walked out into the cold streets. He couldn't
believe it. His wife gone, now his possessions. All he had left were the clothes he was
wearing and his spider-gear.

Peter held his hands in his jean pockets as he walked down the street with his head down.
Pulling his head up to look to the cloud field sky for some sort of answer. A blur of red
smoke jetted by, led by a dark red goblin glider seen from below.

"Time for a little action!" he told himself as he ran across the street to a dark alley. In an
instant, he was in his red and blue costume, leaping up to the buildings into a webswing. He
began to catch up with the glider.

A line of thin webbing shot from his wrist to the back of the glider. He held onto the edge
of the building, pulling the glider out from under The Rose Goblin's feet.

"Ugh!" She muttered.

Her feet jerked from the glider, throwing her forward into a building extremely. Spidey
quickly leaped from the building head towards her as she began to fall. Grabbing to her
by the collar, he held her outward as he kicked off ontop of the building across from
them.

She was flung hard by our hero into the building roof by our hero.

"Is that anyway to treat a lady?" She denounced, laying on the ground with only her
palms inwards against the roof top, looking to Spider-Man. "Really, Peter, you need to
learn how to treat a lady right."

Peter's eyes grew under his costume mask.

"It was you who burnt down my apartment, wasn't it?!"

"Maybe, maybe not." She teased, standing up completely.

"Why?! How do you know.... me? Who are you working for?"

"So many questions, so little time. " She continued to tease.

"Don't play games with me!" He ordered, grabbing her by the throat. "Now who are you
working for and how do you know me? I wan't some answers lady!"

Tapping a remote under her dark red, leather gloves let out a *bleep!*. Spidey's Spider-
Sense buzzed through his head. Rose Goblin leaped from his grasp into a forced roll as
her dark red glider crept behind Spidey. He quickly turned around to see the glider slam
into his gut.

"Ungh!" He moaned as the force threw him backwards off the building into an alley way
garbage dumpster.

Rose Goblin ran over to the edge to see this. She quickly ran back to her glider, not
helping but to smile. Tapping the gas on the glider, she roared down to the alley way and
to the dumpster.

"You've hurt someone I care deeply for.... and believe me; they've had enough with you."

Peter laid in the pile of garbage, halfway unconscious. She leaped off her glider into the
dumpster, landing over him with an evil smile. She ran her finger across his mouth,
leading her finger down to his mask. She pulled it upwards, revealing his unconscious
face with a bloody nose.

She threw the mask over her shoulder as she leaned to his face. "Time for you to be
revealed, Petey. You've caused a lot of damage... y'know?"

After she had leaped out of the dumpster onto her glider, Rose Goblin soared upwards
into the cloudy, snow filled sky. Peter laid in the dumpster, seriously hurt, bleeding,
unconscious. But most importently, unmasked.

A blonde haired figure stepped up to the dumpster, seeing Peter there unmasked. His face
hidden from view. Slowly the character approached Peter.
