"Dino did
a good job of continuing the Gambit/Bishop dynamic with his trademark dialogue.
Both of these characters work better outside of the X-Men than they do inside
the team."

"So I'm suppose to believe in some little coin," Bishop said with a false tone of unbelief. He would be lying if he said the sight of that coin didn't shake him a bit. It did, but maybe that's what Immanuel and Timothy wanted. Could they be telling the truth though? "Don't doubt us Bishop! We're telling the truth. You must believe us," Timothy pleaded. He had heard the tales of how his grandfather, Gambit, had been beheaded by Bishop. LeBeau wanted more than anything than to prevent that future from passing. Shinobi Shaw could not die. There was a sudden crash and out of nowhere a man with short silver hair had Pamela with a knife at her throat. The man had a scowl on his, "They do tell you the truth Bishop, but Shinobi Shaw must die all the same. Kill him or I kill your precious here." Bishop's fists tightened, "Lay any harm to her and I swear I'll rip you limb from limb you pathetic piece of crap. I'll make sure you suffer." "Who the hell are you?" Immanuel asked shocked at the sudden appearance of this new player. "It matters not. I can't allow you two to interfere with time. I'll put a stop to you one way or another. Bishop must " "Destroy the world and rebuild it anew. That's what I want to do my boy," the black woman said as she walked onto the streets of Chicago. She wore a long red dress that dragged at her feet. Her hair was ebony and had curls abound. Her skin was the color of dark chocolate and her body had more curves than a country road in Georgia. "Yes, Yani and I know you can do it. You're just that powerful. I have faith in you," a little boy probably only nine years of age said. Yani smiled and bent down to touch the child's cheek, "Aww Maurice your love for me is so touching. And just as you have faith in me so will so many others. We will wipe the slime away from the Earth and make a world that will shine like no other before." The child laughed innocently and kissed Yani on the cheek out of affection, "So who do we bring faith to first?" Yani rose up and pointed towards the building where the Hellfire Club resided, "Marius St. Croix. Better known as Emplate. He will be the Feeder and will help our food to grow." The little Filipino boy clapped his hands and began to skip towards the place where their Feeder dwelled. Mountjoy walked into the office of Shinobi Shaw to find it empty. The mutant fugitive from the future proceeded anyway and closed the door behind him. "May I help you?" Shinobi Shaw said as he opened the door behind Mountjoy and walked in. Shinobi's visitor smiled wickedly, "I've only come to talk." "About what I wonder," Shinobi said wistfully as he sat down at his desk. "I know why you really sent Mystique to Somalia," Mountjoy said as he sat in front of Shinobi. That comment caught Shinobi's eye and he said, "Well, then tell me Mountjoy. Just why did I send Raven away?" "It's quite simple really. She's hurt your pride and you're going to make her pay by killing her. If you really wanted that mutant boy you could have been got him. I wonder why you sent Martinique along with her though." Shinobi laughed, "So you've figured me out. Well, I sent Martinique along because everyone knows I'm fond of her. If both of them die the suspicion that I was just out to get Mystique will diminish with it. Sure they'll always be that rumor, but it'll be sufficiently weakened." "And so the backstabbing continues onward," Mountjoy laughed as he got up his chair and walked out of the room. Four women walked into the abandoned building each with an air of purpose about them. One woman was wearing gold breastplates, bracelets, and a tattered orange skirt. She was about seven feet tall and had skin a couple of shades lighter than caramel. On the top of her head was a tiara made of gold with rubies encased in it. Her name was Sierra. The woman next to Sierra was called Kenyata. She was about 5'7 with a large red cloak over her black shirt and pants. Long black hair hung down to her round butt and her eyes were glittering amber. Kenyata's skin was very close to that of ebony, but not yet there. Sweat rolled a little down her large brow. Behind Kenyata was a woman that was a wonderful shade of brown. Her eyes were a light brown and they matched her short jacket and skirt. All along her skirt and jacket were different symbols of magic. She even had a tattoo of over her eye very close to her short black hair. On her small, fat fingers she wore a ring with her name embedded in it. The woman's name was spelled out in emerald. It said Sapphire. The last of the women was also the shortest. She was barely over 5'2. Her hair was golden in color and it barely reached past her small ears. The woman's broad nose took in a great deal of air. The building was musty from old age. The outfit of this woman was the strangest because she had none on at all. She was entirely naked. And Akaya preferred it that way. "Never did I think Yani would try again. My Sisters of the Womb we are needed again," Sierra said her heart full of heaviness. She had finally thought she had gained some rest, but now yet again Yani was trying to do the impossible. Except this time in a different dimension. "We should have known the woman would try again. What is this her third time now?" Kenyata asked folding her arms together. "She would have never tried again if it wasn't for the very Earthers that we're trying to save now. I'm sure we all remember the Octense Dream and how the superhero groups known as the Fantastic Four and M-Squad meddled. Remember how Invisible Woman destroyed the armies of King Daloa? That gave Yani all the incentive she needed to come back. I say we leave the humans to their fate," Sapphire said grumpily. "All you say is right Sapphire except we can't abandon the Earthers. Not now. Not ever. If Yani succeeds here she'll only try again in the Hewan Dimension. Do you want that to happen?" Akaya asked. "None of use wants that Akaya. That I can assure you of! We must all agree now though. Do we stop Yani once and for all?" Sierra asked looking into the eyes of all her fellow Sisters of the Womb. "I don't even know we you asked that Sierra. Of course we're all in," Sapphire proclaimed. Sierra smiled at the acknowledgement of her other two sisters. Maybe just maybe Yani would fall permanently this time. "She'll go after a Feeder first. I suggest we try to figure out who she might go to," Kenyata said. "They'll be no bloodshed here today! I won't have it. Everyone drop there weapons and we'll solve this problem," Bishop said as he laid his gun on the ground. Steven threw Pamela to Bishop and laid down his weapon. As he rose from the ground he pulled back his blue hair. Steven's blue eyes looked over to Immanuel and Timothy as he said coldly, "There is only one future and in it you kill Shinobi Shaw. Don't try and change what is." "So you rather I be a dictator then?" Bishop asked. Immanuel and Timothy's chest puffed up at that question. It showed Bishop was seeing things their way. "Your dictatorship leads to a paradise. LeBeau and Dane don't know that because they'll be dead before that paradise happens," Steven explained. "Me killing one man can't affect so much!" Bishop yelled in frustration. Then he remembered the hell he endured in a world ruled by Apocalypse. He remembered how much the death of one man could change things. Could him killing this Shaw be so crucial? Timothy stepped forward beside Bishop, "It can and it will. There's no doubt about that!" Bishop sighed, "Give me details. How does all of this go down?" "There's not many details, but the beginning of it is with the death of Shinobi Shaw. Then somewhere along the line you gather Emplate, Mountjoy, and some others whose names have been forgotten to your side. This group lead by you ravages the numerous mutant teams and along the way you gain some of them as slaves. One of them was the young X-Man, Blink. You somehow used her to alter the world into how you saw fit. As I've said the details are scarce," Timothy explained. "Just because Shinobi Shaw was the beginning doesn't mean it was the cause. There are too many gaps in your story for me to believe that not killing Shinobi Shaw will make me a dictator," Bishop said as he looked at Timothy and then he swiftly turned his gaze to a smiling Steven, "Doesn't mean I believe you either! Just because there are gaps in Tim's story doesn't mean he still couldn't be right." "Then what are you going to do Bishop?" Immanuel asked folding his arms together as he knew a tense moment was ahead. Bishop looked all around the room and then towards the ground, "Reiger take Pamela home. Steven, Timothy, and Immanuel come with me. You're going to help me teach the Hellfire Club a lesson and then we'll figure out my little Shaw problem." |
