"Dino did
a good job of continuing the Gambit/Bishop dynamic with his trademark dialogue.
Both of these characters work better outside of the X-Men than they do inside
the team."

Raven Darkholme and Martinique Jason walked off the plane to found themselves greeted by a host of guns and armed men dressed all in black. Mystique laughed as she nudged Mastermind in the side, "I told you girl." Martinique nodded and in an instant the ship and the two women disappeared. The men began to look around baffled. They searched all over foolishly when just as suddenly the ship reappeared, but the two women were nowhere to be found. Looking up in the sky the hired guns saw a giant eagle with a woman on its back flying far away into the Somalia night. "I can hardly believe Shaw. I expected better of him!" Mastermind said angrily. She pounded her fist together. The bird she was on began to take descent into the savannah outside of a small town. As the bird came close to the ground it changed quickly back into its original form of Mystique. The two women hit the ground with a thud and they had to dust themselves off. Mystique laughed, "At least he didn't underestimate us. Did you see how many men he had waiting for us?" "That was quite funny, but I'm sure they're going to vent their frustration on our vehicle. How will we get back home?" Mastermind asked as she flopped herself on the ground. "No need to fret honey. I've got my ways. We'll get back home and have a nice long conversation with Shinobi," Mystique mused as she folded her arms. Just then something flashed in her mind. She saw a man dressed all in an all black suit with a long black trench coat. He was wearing black sunglasses and a black long hat. Hello Mystique. Long time no see my dear. No matter though. We'll have plenty of time to catch up. Don't tell Jason about me though. You might scare the lad. Oh and one more thing Mystique. The name's Dr. Anthony Crow. Raven's mouth dropped at the mentioning of that name. She hadn't heard
it in years. Since she was a little kid, but she couldn't quite remember
everything about that time. It was a blur to her and she hadn't realized
it to that point. Hellfire Club Vanisher teleported into the office of Shinobi Shaw with a look of anxiety over his face. He was padding his head with a towel. Shaw quickly asked Telford with a clipped tone, "What is it?!" "Bishop and three other intruders are in the building and they're headed straight this way. They've already taken out Trevor and Emplate," Vanisher said. Maybe Cordelia might have been of some help if she wasn't off in San Francisco attending to some business. Shinobi leaned back in his chair, "So Bishop has decided to make his move. Perhaps I should have kept Mystique and Mastermind around. Where's Mountjoy?" "I have no idea Shinobi. I just think we should get out of here while we can. Bishop has killed and won't hesitate to do so again. That I'm sure of," Vanisher exclaimed, but Shinobi simply held up a hand to make Vanisher desist in his ranting. "We're not running Telford. We're fighting. Bishop has been a problem for far too long," Shinobi said as he pressed a button on his desk and the wall behind him flipped revealing tons of weapons that could dominate a small country. Vanisher smiled, "Since you put it that way " "Do you think this will work?" Steven said as he dodged the gunfire of another Hellfire club guard and with his inherited super speed he moved behind the guard. He promptly dislocated both of the guard's shoulders. Bishop looked at the blue-haired mutant from the year 2198 and said confidently, "It'll work Maximoff. Shinobi will show himself soon enough." "Let's keep moving up these stairs. Shinobi's office is at the top of them," Immanuel said as he encased Bishop, Steven, and Timothy in magnetic shields. "Everyone be on your guard. Shinobi isn't going to take this lying
down," Bishop said as the four men made their descent up the stairway. Yemen The prison was dank and smelled of old feces. Rats ran all along the body of the emaciated woman's dark skin. Her short cut blonde hair was dirty and looked nearly brown from all the filth in it. There were no windows in the prison cell and all that gave the woman company was the darkness and rats. Suddenly she heard a creaking sound and the door to her cell opened letting light stream in. Light stun at the woman's eyes and she tried her best to turn away from it. The person who had opened the door was one of her many guards. This one was a brute. He was about 6'6 and he probably weighed around 300 pounds. He wore tattered clothes and always carried an automatic gun with him. He smiled and said, "Here's your food little lady. It's not much, but I just had to take those two strawberries. They looked too good not to eat." The woman could barely speak, but she managed to open her crust-covered lips, "You won't get away with this. My brother will come for me." "Please woman! He thinks you're nothing more than a malfunctioned hologram. He won't ever come for you," the man laughed as he threw the plate scraping across the rocky ground to the woman's legs. As the man closed the door Shard began to break down and cry. Bishop kicked in the door and began to fire off his weapons immediately. The fire was returned to him in kind from Shinobi and Vanisher, but the magnetic shield produced by Immanuel Dane was enough to keep him stabilized. Shinobi merely shifted his density to make the bullets pass through him and Telford just made the bullets disappear to other locations before they hit him. "Give it up Shinobi! You can't win!" Bishop yelled. "And why is that?" Shinobi asked. "Because of me," Steven Maximoff grunted as he streaked across the room taking the weapons from Shinobi and Vanisher's hands. "Looks like you two have just lost," Bishop laughed as he pointed one gun at Shinobi and another at Vanisher. Shinobi laughed, "It may look that way. Vanisher get us out of here!" Telford smiled and shook his head. He teleported only himself out. Bishop found this rather amusing, "Looks like Porter abandoned you. Some Hellfire Club you got going here or what?" "It doesn't matter Bishop! In the long run you can't win. You or anyone else like you. You'll just be fighting forever trying to get some silly peace of mind," Shinobi laughed wickedly. Suddenly there was a sickening pop and Shaw stopped laughing. He leaned back in his chair as blood trickled out of his ears. "I couldn't let you kill him so I killed him myself," Immanuel said somberly. "Why you!!!" Steven yelled as he ran head on into Immanuel and began to pound him with relentless punches. Within a few seconds Immanuel's face a bloody mess and he was dead. Timothy LeBeau was in shock at what had just occurred. He outstretched his hand and with his mutant powers he turned Steven Maximoff into dust. Then he bent on the floor and sighed, "It's done. The future is saved. I don't belong here." With that Timothy disintegrated both himself and Immanuel into dust.
Bishop looked at the room around him. How had so much death happened so
fast? How? Bishop Investigations (2 Days Later) Bishop had all the Century Items on his desk. The old man seated in front of him looked jubilant. It was like a spark had been ignited in the elderly man. The man after gazing over the Century Items a bit placed all of them in a black suitcase. "I can't thank you enough! These things are so precious to me," the man said as he put the items into the suitcase frantically. "Do the items have super powers?" Bishop asked frankly. The old man's smile turned into a scowl, "That is none of your business." Bishop rose out of his chair, "I think it is sir. I want to know I'm putting these things in the right hands." Suddenly there was a bright light and Bishop was slammed into the wall. Now instead of looking at an old man Bishop saw a very familiar face. It was the face of Legion except he looked older and much more built. "You have no idea who you're messing with Bishop! Mind your business
and you might live," the mutant said as he grasped the suitcase and
teleported off. New York "So you retrieved the Century Items for me? I'm proud of you Seti," Ramses said as he grabbed the black suitcase from his half-brother. "Of course. Bishop tried to ask questions, but I took him out." "He'll suspect something. But whom can he tell really? Everyone else is too busy. Ahh the time is growing ever nearer. Our invasion shall soon be under way," Ramses gloated as he opened the suitcase and stared at the gleaming jewels inside. "Of course, but first Jadianna must conquer that dimension of telepaths. Then we can concentrate on this place," Seti reminded. "Yes
then my empire shall have its greatest achievement." |
