L.A. 2084 Marcus Darkholme slipped on the metallic gray headset and activated the virtual library. He had to do a research report on an event that happened during the First Age of Heroes. Marcus had chosen to do his report on an event involving his grandmother, Mystique. The event was known as the Heavenrain Fiasco. Welcome Marcus. What can I help you with today? "Give me a rundown of the Heavenrain Fiasco computer," Marcus ordered. Of course I'd be glad to.
"Thanks computer. I couldn't have done this report without you," Marcus laughed as he took off his VR helmet. Anytime chief. Just remember to do your homework a little earlier next time. Present Day (Chicago) "Let this meeting of the Heavenrain Club come to order!" Dr. Crow exclaimed with a smile. "So what's on the agenda?" Crown, a former Spider-Man villain and HYDRA project that had been believed dead, asked though no one was sure where the voice came from. Crown had no visible mouth that anyone was able to pick up on. "We have a visitor," Dr. Crow replied as suddenly a bright red light filled the dining hall that the Heavenrain had used for their meetings. Only a few moments after the light went out, Onset was floating above the dining table. Amadeus and Duke were the only members of the Club who knew of Onset's reputation and just how deadly the villainess was so they were taken aback by her sudden appearance. "Finally I have the chance to meet the newly infamous Heavenrain Club," Onset smiled as she floated down into a seat. "Your entrance was quite impressive, but lets be frank here. What do you want?" Rebirth asked sternly. "I want to give you the chance to help me. And if you do your place in my new world order will be assured," Onset promised. "How lovely and just how exactly can we help you?" Yani inquired with a yawn. "I need people willing to help me fight the forces of Sinister. I was figuring you could probably spare some guys," Onset laughed lightly. "I'll go," Outcast volunteered. "Same here," Plastique and Moonfrost said simultaneously. "I might as well come along," Yani sighed. "The action might be good for me," Crown said eager to get back into action again. It had been a while since he had lost fought well anything at all. "I have corporate meetings to attend," Amadeus lied. He just didn't feel like taking on Sinister anytime soon no matter who asked him to. "We prefer to stay in the background," Dr. Crow said pointing to himself and Anais. "Wherever there's Sinister, our friend Exodus can't be far behind," Duke reasoned. The former knight of Bennet du Paris was not yet ready to confront the past fully. His last battle against his old leader had caused Duke a great deal of shame. "Sinister might try to screw up my genes or something," Rebirth joked though he very well might as just said that he wasn't fighting Sinister ever. Onset rubbed her hands together as if she were cold, "So five are going to help me. That's an excellent number!" "All depends on your definition of excellent. If getting nearly nobody to help you is excellent well then go for it man," Duke laughed at Onset. "So negative Duke, but I'm sure me and you will be able to work on that one day soon," Onset replied as she teleported off with the people who were coming with her. Bishop Investigations "Only reason I haven't thrown you out my office yet is because you helped Shaitan and myself defeat Rebirth," Bishop reminded as the person he was talking to leaned over the desk. "I need your help Bishop! I've been sayin this for the past hour. I know you hear me," Mystique complained loudly. She didn't enjoy being ignored and violence was usually the way she dished out her annoyance, but in this case she had to remain calm. Despite how much of a pain Bishop might be. "Maybe you should hear her out bro," Shard said walking into the office with a Chicago Cubs t-shirt on and a pair of slacks. Bishop smiled as his sister walked into the room. While he hated Anais and Crow for keeping her captive he did owe them something in a way. They had given him his sister back alive and well. Bishop hadn't seen her in flesh and blood for quite a while. "At least someone has sense around here," Mystique said. Bishop growled, "Fine. What do you want Raven? And don't play word games with me or I'll blow your head off." Mystique laughed, "So you say Bishop. So you say. Anyway let me get right to the point. I need you to help me find my brothers." "Brothers?" Shard asked puzzled. Mystique was hardly the type of person she expected to have any siblings. Raven's behavior seemed very much like that of the spoiled only child. "Yes, I was shocked myself. Crow told me that Sinister has had my brothers held captive for years! I want them to be free and not within the grips of that damn lunatic," Mystique explained, though Bishop wasn't entirely sure of her motives. It could just as easily be that Raven wanted her brothers for some specific purpose. Bishop had no way of knowing for sure. There was silence for a moment, but Mystique was quick to end it, "Are you going to help me or what?" "Fine I'll help you Raven, but how exactly do you intend on finding Essex? He's not exactly the type to come out too often." Raven nodded in agreement, "I'm not sure how we can do it, but maybe we can track down someone who Sinister has interest in." "The Summers clan is obvious, but he hasn't made a move on them in ages. Whom else has he sought after?" Bishop asked. "Polaris and Domino come to mind," Shard said having read the file on Sinister while a part of X-Men Omega. "Polaris was last seen with X-Corp. We should contact them," Mystique said anxiously. Bishop held up a hand, "I'll contact them." An Hour Later Bishop walked out of the office with his usual demeanor of sternness. Looking over to his sister he informed, "Polaris is in New Mexico with Exodus and the others." "So we're headed to New Mexico then?" Shard asked. "So it would seem," Bishop said picking up his gun off the desk. |
