"Could you repeat that, Mags?"
Meltdown asked. "It sounded like you said we needed to find a
young girl."
"Your tone isn't to my liking, Tabitha," Magneto replied. "Now, if
I may fully explain the situation without you interrupting me...?"
"Go on, sir," Sunspot stated.
"In South America is a young girl named Maria Campo," Magneto
continued. "Her powers are gravely needed. She is currently part
of the British-Columbian branch of the Hellfire Club. Roberto will
use his connections to infiltrate the club."
"Fekt, this mission is simplistic in nature," Shatterstar
muttered, folding his arms across his chest.
"Meet in the hanger in 30 minutes," Magneto ordered. Once the team
exited, Amelia Voght spoke up.
"Are you sure you want them to head in alone?" she asked. "I could
accompany the team..."
"I appreciate the offer, Amelia," Magneto replied. "But it's wholy
unnecessary. I have faith in my Fallen Angels."
"There is something about some of them I don't trust," Amelia
stated. "Particularly Shatterstar and Feral."
"You've worked with the likes of Senyaka, Unuscione, Spoor, and
the Klienstocks," Magneto said. "And you don't trust Shatterstar
and Feral?"
"Whoever said I trusted the Acolytes I've fought alongside?"
Amelia asked.
Buenos Aires, a beautiful South American city. It is also the
current location of the Hellfire Club's British-Columbian chapter.
"Niiiice digs, Bobby," Tabitha said, looking around their hotel
suite.
"It all comes as being part of the illustrious Hellfire Club,"
Bobby replied.
"When do we get to work?" Shatterstar asked, pulling his swords
out of a suitcase.
"'We' don't do anything," Bobby said.
"Y'gotta be kiddin' me..." Feral growled. "Then why the hell did
we hafta come from Genosha all the way here, not to mention forcin'
me ta use a blasted image inducer?"
"If I need back-up, I'll call you guys," Bobby said. "But right
now, this is something only I can handle."
"We're accompanying you to the Club, though," Rictor said. "And
we'll be waiting outside."
"Fine," Bobby agreed. "Just don't be in uniform, and don't act too
obvious."
*****
"How long does this hafta take?!" Tabitha complained.
"Grrr.... do ya ever shut up?!" Feral exclaimed.
"Both of you, shut up!!" Rictor ordered. "Dios mio... this
sucks enough without you two constantly bitching."
"DaCoasta should speed this up," Shatterstar muttered. "We haven't
the energy to--"
Shatterstar was cut off as a young girl ran into him. He glared at
her.
"I-I'm sorry..." she said. "I'm looking for the Hellfire Club... I
need help."
"Yer goin' to the wrong place, kid..." Tabitha muttered.
"Bu-but I was told that the Hellfire Club was a benevolent
organization..." she stated.
"If you need help, then that's how we fit in," Rictor said.
"What's the problem?"
"My name is Gendra," she began. "I come from Hati. However, my
father, Dimor, is under some kind of control. I needed to seek out
help. I need your help!!"
"You want us to save your dad?" Tabitha asked. She looked at her
watch. "Sure, why not. It'll let us kill some time while we're
waitin' f'r Bobby t' stop mingling with those high society types."
A walk, and a 30 minute flight later...
"All right, Gendra," Rictor said. "Tell us where your dad---is?"
As Rictor stated the last word, the entire ground began to shake.
The land seemed to open up, and three people rose up.
"That would be my father, Dimor" Gendra stated. "He is the older
one. He can chane pressures. The woman is Sonia, who can command
the earth, shaping it to her will. The young African is Mjnari,
who can run at supersonic speeds."
"Surrender now, and you shall not be harmed," Dimor calmly stated,
raising his arm.
"Boy, these island natives are just overflowing with personality,"
Meltdown commented.
"Please, do not hurt them!!" Gendra pleaded.
"Stay back, child," Shatterstar ordered.
"Your trespass is ill-advised," Dimor said. "Prepare to fall at
the hands of the Three."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah..." Meltdown said, hurling one of her time
bombs. Mjnari instantly avoided it, and dashed towards her,
driving his fist into her jaw.
"Get back, kid!!" Rictor commanded, releasing a seismic burst at
Mjnari. "Meltdown may be annoying, but she's still part of this
team!!"
"I say we cancel all three of them," Shatterstar said.
"I'm with blondie," Feral added.
"What a surprise..." Ric muttered. "All right, Sonia, Gendra tells
us you can command the earth. Let's see how you fare against
another with the power to cause that earth to crumble!!"
Rictor lifted his hands, creating an enormous shockwave burst,
directing it at Sonia. The young Domican commanded the earth
behind Rictor to rise up behind him, slamming down onto him.
"Rictor!" Shatterstar exclaimed. He leapt towards Sonia, when a
sudden wind gust threw him into Feral.
"Watch where yer jumpin'!!" Feral exclaimed.
"It wasn't--ARGH!!!" Shatterstar suddenly fell to his knees,
gripping his head.
"It's my father!!" Gendra stated. "He's increasing the pressure in
Shatterstar's head!!"
"Might as well see what I can do about that!" Feral shouted,
leaping at Dimor. Something shoved her down the ground, forcing
her down even more. Dimor was increasing the pressure on her back.
"Ugh... can't... move..."
The pressure began to increase even moreso. She felt her head
beginning to throb from the headache Dimor was causing.
Then, she fell.
"No..." Gendra stated. She began to run off, when something
snagged her foot. "HELP!!!"
"Shh!!" Meltdown ordered. "Listen up, Gen. Go back t' the jet an'
use the communication equip ta get in touch with Magneto. Tell him
what's goin' on. Go, now!!"
Gendra nodded, and ran off.
