Millionaire industrialist Tony Stark built an advanced suit of armor to keep his heart beating after some shrapnel was lodged near it. Now, no longer needing the armor to keep his heart beating, Stark continues to don it to protect innocents as Iron Man. The armor has gone through various upgrades and features a wide variety of weapon systems.

The granddaughter of Kenjiro Fujikawa, Rumiko is also Tony's current lover. In addition, Rumiko owns 2% of Stark-Fujikawa, with her grandfather and Tony each owning 49% of the company. Her relationship with Tony doesn't sit too well with Kenjiro, but despite this, the couple has become quite serious -- especially after Tony revealed his identity to her.

In addition to serving as Tony's personal assistant, Virginia "Pepper" Potts is also one of his oldest friends and one of his most-trusted confidants. Although they separated for a time, Pepper has recently reconciled with her husband -- Harold "Happy" Hogan.

Built to be the bride of the robotic villain called Ultron, Jocasta rebelled and became a member of the Avengers. However, she was eventually destroyed, until her consciousness was recovered by Tony. Now without a body, Jocasta serves as Tony's personal artificial intelligence, aiding him in his work as Iron Man.
