The Celestial Gods, forgers of the world, have long ago abandoned Erith to its own devices, allowing the mysterious Twelve Divines, also known as the Walking Gods, to gain a foothold of power in the world. Tensions are escalating between the free lands of Arthadia and its neighbour across the sea, the Latverian Empire, while the Elves and the Dwarves have shut themselves off from the world. Amongst all this, rumours of people with bizarre, unnatural powers are begining to arise. Some call them hellbreed, others call them killcrops, but regardless they are despised and feared by all. Lord Charles Xavier believes these abilities to be a gift from the absent Celestial Gods, and hopes he can foster acceptance for his people. Over the years he has gathered an eclectic group of gifted young people to his home in Greymalkin, in the hopes of training them to go out into the world and spread the message of acceptance. Meanwhile, Erik of Lenshire, who has dubbed himself Magnus, after the god of the forge, has gathered himself a similar group of likeminded people. Unlike Charles though, Magnus believes the gifted of the world were chosen by the missing Celestial Gods to rule the world in their absence. she often finds herself held back by her over protective stepfather.

Abondoned not long after birth, due to his
his oversized limbs and apelike gait, the young man
H'nk was found and raised by the native beast people of arthadia,
the Toth'ra. Eventually he went out into the world and discovered a love
for alchemy before being accepted into the house of Xavier.

Born and raised for much of her life in a
strange exotic land accross the sea, Ororo
was worshipped as a weather goddess until her village was nearly
destroyed by a storm while she slept. Thankfully she was saved by Lord
Xavier, who brought her accross the seas to the strange continent of
Parthoris.

A troubled and solitary man, little is known
about Logan's past, even by Logan himself.
Considered little more than an animal by many, the ranger has been used as
a tool by organisations such as the Black Talon and the Brotherhood for
years, before eventually finding salvation with the Knights of Greymalkin.

The most unusual of the Knights, but also
the most pure of heart, young elf Khert was
abandoned as a baby at a remote monastary. Raised in a home full of love
and faith, the young monk is equally as quick to say a prayer for his
enemy as he is to strike them with his lightning fast staff.
