Jeffrey Mace was a newspaper columnist and reporter who was inspired by Captain America to put on a patriotically-themed costume and began to fight crime.

Professor Elton Morrow was exploring in the Antarctic when he finds an enormous, glowing blue diamond.  When his return ship was torpedoed by a U-Boat, fragments of the diamond became embedded in his body thus granting him invulnerability and heightening his strength.

 Son of the Asgardian Frost Giant Vafthrudnir and possessed of unusually short stature, he escaped the persecution of his peers and fled to the United States.  Learning first about human society as an amateur boxer under the name 'Jack Frostbolt,' he eventually answered the summons to join the mysteryman community.

The only survivor of a plane crash into an island floating in the sky, he was soon adopted by the king of the island's inhabitants, who were originally Inhumans who had seceded from their race's city of Attilan.  As an adult he was given artificial wings and was instructed by the king to "go back to your people and devote your life to eradicating the elements that make for unhappiness in the world."
Red Raven
Bruce Dickson, a scientist on an expedition to conquer Mt. Kalpurthia, found his way to the hidden land of Kalahia.  The Council of Elders of the city granted Dickson their ability to become two-dimensional.  He returned to America to use his abilities to fight evil, returning to Kalahia on occasion to court the daughter of the chief of Elders, Olalla.
Thin Man
Martin Fletcher was a chemistry student who chanced upon a formula devised by Professor Alfred Gibberne in 1899, which stimulates the nervous system in a manner that allows accelerated speed.  Indifferent to his studies, he abandoned them to a life of adventure. 
Super Sabre
Christina Stern, dissatisfied with the options available to her in the small town of Old Bensalem, put on a patriotically-themed costume and used her abilities to fight evil alongside the Crimson Commando, Stonewall, and Super Sabre. 
Yankee Clipper
Colonel in Navy Intelligence, Rick Stoner took on the assignment of operating as the Liberty Legion's government liaison.
