At the headquarters of the National Security Council, Space Flight, the space-faring team, recover from a battle with the New Hex Squad. Suddenly, the team hears a loud speaker call from Judge Justice, “Ben Tucker and Jenny, report to my office now!” ”Oohh, Benny and Jenny, when Justice sees you now, right in the kisser!” exclaims Lynda Carrington, team co-leader. Ben and Jenny ignore the taunts as they enter Judge Justice’s office. “Don’t worry, Ben, Jenny. I have not summoned you to punish you but to ask you for help me to complete Operation: Aerodynamics. Since I am back in the NSC I want some of the action. I want to fly like the rest of Space Flight. Ben, your power is to produce a thermochemical reaction that allows you to fly. Jenny, you have a talent with computers. I want you two to design a super-suit and jet pack that enables me to fly, be invulnerable, and fight evil beings like yourselves.” In the next few days, Jenny examines Ben’s power, different jetpacks, and some of the NSC’s costumes. After a week of heavy busy work Ben and Jenny present Judge Justice with his new super-suit. ‘Here you go, sir,” exclaims Ben, with excitement. It fits Justice like a glove. The gloves and boots are white. In the middle there is a big red X and it is blue all over. The jet pack is golden yellow. There is no cowl. And then, Judge Justice declares, “Ben, Jenny, thank you, thank you very much. While you have been fixing this suit up I’ve been reading the paper and I think I’ve found an adventure for us, Ben. I’m sorry, Jenny, but Ben and I are more qualified for this mission. Ben, will you please change into your costume?” In seconds, Solarman and Judge Justice streak off under their own power, heading for their so-called “mission”. In concern, Solarman says, “Uh, Mr. Tensen, oh sorry, uh, I mean, Judge Justice, don’t you think you should let me carry you. Y’know, the suit’s still untested.” In an angry voice, Judge Justice screams, “Untested? I’ll show you that this suit’s untested.” Suddenly, Judge Justice flies in a combination of circles, spins, and flips. Solarman and Judge Justice saw a space cruiser that must have crash-landed in a nearby brush and forest. They went there to investigate. Solarman knew from being a member of Space Flight that it was full to capacity with Comet Man and Max. This would either be a space exploration or a fight. My name is Travis Juarez. I am fifteen years old and even though I was born in Spain, I no longer live there. I live in America in a semi-wealthy section of Brooklyn Heights. I am a student with Dr. Jack Jordan with the Clinic for Psychiatric Care. My mentor owns the clinic now. My brother, Hector Juarez, used to attend this clinic because I changed my name and became Red Prism. Our four new team-mates are Steve and Lynda Carrington, Bob White, and Wendell Elvis Vaughn. Stephan Beckley and his partner in the role of Comet Man went space exploring. At the clinic every one else enjoys the sport, gymnastics. Now, of course, we are in the gymnasium. As I told you before, Hector Juarez no longer attends the clinic. Hector went off to attend college in another part of the country. After my mother died at my dad’s hands, Hector became obsessed with protecting me but I told him he need not protect me anymore. My cell phone started to beep. I answered it. It was Judge Justice on the other end, telling me to assemble the NSC Team because Solarman was fighting a berserk Comet Man. He also said that Max was trying to calm down Beckley from being power mad and drunk with his own power. I changed into my costume and gathered Dr. Jack Jordan with his red prism ring. There was no time to call Hector from college but the two of us flew all the way from New York to the park where the Comet Ship had crash-landed. The ship was a gutted ruin. Judge Justice had erected some shields to protected him from Comet Man’s comet blasts. Solarman had used his solar blasts to heat up the air around Comet Man. Max was the only one who could calm down Beckley with his comet healing powers. The trick was to let him get close enough to Comet Man to perform his duty. The red prism rings may not be as powerful as solar or comet energies but Jack Jordan and I had to try to do our best to calm down or fight with Comet Man. Sunlight refracted into our red prism rings and then, convert that sunlight into the electromagnetic spectrum. I thought that Jordan and I were all finished when the rest of Space Flight and DP7 had arrived on the scene. Now, the battle will finally begin. A bar on 42nd Street, New York. When he opens the door, a nice atmosphere greets Shiro Hanada. The stench is bearable, the drinks are pretty good, and the people are nice. Your typical bar. The customers smile and say hello to him as he walks over to the bartender. "Where is she?" "In the back, as usual," he responds, with ease. "Thanks", he replies, tapping the table. Without turning back to face him, Shiro heads to the back door. He thinks of the great service he'll probably get there. "The usual", he'll tell her, he thinks. He feels female soft fingers gripping a tuft of his long black hair. It is Kimberly ‘Kimmie’ Eaton, a prostitute by any other name. He knows right off that she's "on duty", by her clothes. A pink mini-skirt hangs off of her buttocks, and for her chest, she has a black bikini top on, with a leather jacket over it. And this special attire is typical of her when she wants to see him especially because one half of her bikini top is folded over, revealing a tattoo. It reads: "I've done all fifty states in as many hours, but you're gonna be my biggest collection yet." A heart encircles the whole thing. He shudders at what kind of a man would perform that tattoo in that place. He pulls the jacket over it and pecks her on the cheek. He can hardly keep in a laugh as she blushes with embarrassment-- and giggles like a school girl-- when he does this. Tapping his fingers on her lips, "Meet me at JFK," he tells her, "in three hours, and you'll be my going-away present, before I leave for Canada." Leaving her standing still, gawking in awe, he opens the back door to see a young lady sitting on a bed, with a manila folder on the desk right across from her. It has the name "Vaughn, Wendell" on it. He sits beside her on the bed, staring at the center of her chest. "So, when do you have to go back to the office?" "Two hours,” she says, nervous at his stare. "Why?" "Oh, no reason." With hands squeezing her shoulders and arms, he kisses her on the neck, nearly sucking away her self-control and life essence as Dracula would. At the same time, he brings her body closer to his in a firm but touching lover's embrace. "Wh--what are you doing?" "Kayla, soon, I have to catch a plane to Canada. I want you to be my going-away present." She has almost no time at all to respond-- or better yet, resist-- as he continues to suck, suck, suck, on her neck and starts to unbutton her shirt. The silence is almost deafening. Judge Justice signaled for Max to calm down Comet Man. Max reached out with both arms and touched Beckley’s temples. With an inner explosion of his powers and fingertips, Max funneled some of his remaining comet power to Comet Man’s sanity. Beckley collapsed and soon, he was fine, as well as new. “I think we should go home now,” Judge Justice said. “Bring Comet Man to the infirmary and the rest of the injured Space Flight, including Solarman, too.” Judge Justice walked with the rest of his team back to the Space Ship, Space Flight’s spacecraft. He pulled Sonarman aside. “Sonarman, Steve Carrington, you seem to know Comet Man, as well as Solarman, what could have caused him to turn evil like this?” he asked. “I’m not sure. He is somewhat new to the super hero game, as are we all. Maybe he doesn’t know the full extent of his powers yet, as it affects his mind and body. I will have to examine him. But I will talk to Solarman about this. Remember that time when we fought the Emmett Proudhawk clone, Solarman told me tales of Comet Man going wild like this*.” (* See New Universe #23—Solar Gregg.) “Do that. Because I don’t want Space Flight to fall apart. You are too valuable to me and my team.” With that, Judge Justice and the rest of Space Flight boarded the Space Ship, flying back to NSC HQ. THE END |
