The
eldest of the four children, Alex tries incredibly hard to
set an example for the others. But he lacks confidence, has
a very short temper, and most of all he rarely feels comfortable
around even his closest friends. Though he'll never admit
it, his family is all he has. |

Nerdy
and quiet is how most people describe Julie. She's shy, reads
a lot, watches too many movies, and her best friend is her
little sister, Katie. Julie is introverted despite having
a million ambitions. She wants to act, to dance, to write,
to make music. She takes up way too many hobbies and loses
interest quickly, usually when she gets to the part that involves
other people. |

Jack
is seemingly forever trapped in his own world because the
real world just ain't fun enough. Thus he's constantly getting
into trouble, pulling pranks on his siblings, and ignoring
whatever is really going on. At school, Jack is routinely
bullied and he never manages to get any sort of revenge outside
of drawing comic strips where he ends up on top. Though most
people don't notice it, Jack's also quite clever and is incredibly
good at puzzles and problem-solving. He's just usually too
lazy to show it. |

None
of the kids are more like their father than Katie, the youngest.
Curious, deducting, and obsessed, Katie has a scientist's
mind and a junior detective's ambition for the truth. She's
also the most comfortable with who she is, showing confidence
beyond her years and having little problem with being a tomboy,
wearing dirt-covered overalls to school and asking stupid
questions while wearing her ever-present welding goggles. |
