The Island Of Warby Brent Lambert"Soon everything shall begin," a booming voice hissed. "Yes master very soon. All that has to happen first is the gathering of the mystics," Rex said in reply to his master who was one of the Sons of Set. This particular one was the son of Wanda Maximoff, known as the Scarlet Witch on many worlds. She was the second in command of the Avengers of this Earth. Rex had been in the servitude of his master for some time. He was a mutant with the right side of his face full with cybernetic technology. Rex had come from a world where four powerful mutants known as The Horsemen ruled over the world. Rex had been a servant of the Horsemen known as War. Before she became War the woman had been known as Psylocke. Then his present master came along with his brothers and conquered his world. The Horsemen had tried to fight back against the Sons of Set, but the attempt had been futile. "Rex I want you to take the others in the gathering of these mystics. Bring them to me and we shall begin the transfer." Rex bowed and kept his eyes from looking upon his master. "I will do your will Master. The mystics will be gathered." "Excellent. Now go!" "The Master demands that we capture the mystics in his name. We shall do his will!" Rex exclaimed. Before him were three of the other servants of Master. Their names were Blood Mage, Lord Gandriel, and Balrogg. Each of them had been like Rex. They all had come from hopeless worlds until the Sons of Set came alone and brought order. All of them felt they owed something to the Sons of Set and none of them would come up short on this debt. Blood Mage had come from a mystical world. He had been one of his world's greatest sorcerers until he was banished for delving into forbidden magic. When the Sons of Set came to his world he willing joined them so as to exact vengeance on the council of wizards who had banished him to the darkest of dark kingdoms. During his time in this dark kingdom Blood Mage became who he is today. He grew his long white hair and began wearing his blood red gown. In time he added armor of the same color and a cape. Drinking from the waters of a mystical river the eyes of Blood Mage changed from blue to green. The river also gifted him with a staff of great power. Lord Gandriel was the son of Stephen Strange and Clea. He was naturally gifted with powerful magical abilities. Though Gandriel had to be kept hidden from the world since shortly after his birth most of the world's mystics were hunted down and killed by the magic immune group of hunters known as The Pack. Wolverine, Sabertooth, Wildchild, Penance, Marrow, Wolfsbane, and Feral had made up that group. Kulan Gath had granted them their magical immunity. Then they proceeded to kill him and the rest of the world's mystics. Gandriel had to be hidden, but by the time he was ready to confront The Pack the Sons of Set had come to his world. Everything then changed. Balrogg was an entirely different matter all together. The blood of many powerful people flowed through his veins. His father was the child of Thanos and Scarlet Witch. His mother had been the child of Mephisto and Moondragon. Balrogg had proven himself to be quite the powerful person. On his world he had lead a war against the combined forces of Franklin Richards and Dr. Doom. Just when victory was in his grasp the Sons of Set made themselves known. That was the moment that the war had ended and everything changed. Balrogg was the most trusted servant of the Master simply because in a way he was related to the master. "Which mystics do the master demand for us to capture?" Blood Mage asked as he held his hands out and formed his staff from thin air. The staff was looked like a diseased piece of red wood, but the power held within it was great. "The ones known as Agatha Harkness, and Elfqueen first. Once those two are captured I will reveal the others ones to you," Rex said. He had known of the Elfqueen on his world. She had served under the Horsemen of War as well, but Psylocke had struck her down when Elfqueen failed to kill the wizard known as Calizuma. Gandriel and Balrogg both knew of the Elfqueen as well. On Gandriel's world the Elfqueen had hidden him away from The Pack at the cost of her life. On Balrogg's world the Elfqueen had actually been one of his best generals in the war against Dr. Doom and Franklin Richards. Gandriel, Balrogg, and Rex had been to many worlds, but they had only encountered a handful of Elfqueens. So having to capture one on this world was something of a surprise to the three. Blood Mage's world was entirely different from this world and any of the world's his fellow servants had come from so the name of Elfqueen held no sentimental value to him. "Then let us go in glory! In the name of the Sons of Set we will capture Agatha Harkness and Elfqueen. Take us to Harkness my staff!" Blood Mage exclaimed as his magical staff began to glow blue. Suddenly a large popping sound was heard throughout the large hall and the servants were gone. Agatha levitated over a bubbling pot that was oozing out pink smoke. Her old, tired eyes were held shut in concentration. The old witch had to prepare herself for the trials that were coming her way. She would suffer immense pain before this day was done with. Nothing could avert that, but her defeat could be averted. This world's defeat could be averted. Agatha only needed time to finish this spell before her would be captors arrived. Just then the door to her old shack gave way due to a powerful magical blast from none other than Blood Mage. "Agatha Harkness surrender yourself! You cannot fight the power of our Master." Opening her eyes Agatha floated away from her pot and landed on the ground. Turning around to face the four who had come to take her she said, "I will not fight. I am no fool. I know I cannot even begin to comprehend the power of the Sons of Set. I shall not resist." "Excellent choice," Lord Gandriel smiled as he created yellow mystical shackles around Agatha's wrist and ankles. He didn't want the woman to get any crazy ideas. In truth the only reason Agatha had not resisted was because she had managed to complete her spell. She had done her part to assure that the Sons of Set would not succeed. Now it was up for others to take up the task of completing what she had started. Agatha only hoped the faith she had placed in the world's heroes would prove to be enough. "I'll take her back and meet up with the rest of you later," Lord Gandriel said as he stroked his goatee. He looked very much like his father, Dr. Strange, except all of his hair was blonde. That trait had derived from his mother. "Fine Gandriel. Just be swift about it," Rex replied. "Take us to Elfqueen my staff!" Blood Mage yelled as him and his companions once again vanished leaving behind Agatha and Lord Gandriel. "You lied when you said you would not resist. I can tell these things. It's in your eyes. They tell me you are a fighter," Gandriel said as he grabbed Agatha's chin forcefully and squeezed. "Clever boy. You will not win this day! That much I can promise!" Agatha yelled as she dissolved away her mystical chains as if they were nothing. She then bombarded Gandriel with a hundred tiny blasts that were in the shape of stars. Each blast tore at Gandriel's nervous system and caused him immense pain. Agatha knew that it would only stun the magician for a moment, but a moment was all she needed. Harkness's head illuminated brightly as the woman called out to someone very familiar to her, "Wanda hear me! Your Son has made his move! He seeks to drain mystical energy. Wait until he shows himself. Then-AHHH!!" Agatha fell to the ground not being able to complete her message. Standing over her unconscious body was a smoking Lord Gandriel. "Naughty naughty granny. If you weren't important to the Master's plans I would destroy you. Alas I cannot have my way with you…yet." Grabbing Agatha by her gray hair Gandriel made a large circle in the air with his hand as if he was about to throw a fast pitch. A portal formed where Gandriel had made the circular motion. He first threw Agatha into the portal and then followed behind her. Before he stepped entirely through the portal he threw a medallion on the floor. The medallion was a in the shape of a golden raven. As the portal closed the medallion began to glow and the raven's eyes turned black. Sparkling pink dust began to fill the mystical shack Agatha called home. As the pink dust started to become thick the medallion melted away. The pink dust exploded and destroyed Agatha's abode. Elfqueen sat down and began to float in the air. She sensed that powers were headed her way. For quite some time she had remained isolated from all of civilization. Now it seemed civilization was coming to her. "Elfqueen by the orders of my master you are ordered to surrender to us!" Blood Mage said as he appeared through a blaze of red light. Following closely behind him were Rex and Balrogg. Elfqueen could feel the immense power emanating from Blood Mage and Balrogg. She stood no chance against either of them though that wouldn't stop her from trying. "I won't surrender! I will never give into you fiends!" Elfqueen cried out as black knives of mystical power began to fly from her fingertips, eyes, and mouth. Blood Mage erected a red shield to block the magic of Elfqueen. Most of the mystical knives bounced harmlessly away. One knife managed to get through the force field and struck Balrogg in the leg. The great being of power cried out and fell to the ground. The knife had hurt him. That one woman's knife had hurt him. "You will not attempt another stunt like that!" Balrogg yelled enraged as his skin turned brick red and he teleported behind Elfqueen. Moving at lightning speed he struck the ageless woman with a 100,000 blows. Each one felt like getting hit with a truck. Elfqueen quickly fell to the ground broken and defeated. "Good work Balrogg," Blood Mage applauded. "Lets just go. We have two other mystics to capture," Balrogg grunted. "Clea and Calizuma." Fiji (Two Hours Later) A giant snake made its way down a slope towards a platform were four people were chained to long metal poles. These four people would help cement the demi-god's position on this planet. His name was Yamu and he was a Son of Set. There would be no power equal to that of him and his brothers. Agatha, Elfqueen, Clea, and Calizuma were simply rungs that would help Yamu increase his power and insure his place on this planet. "My master the ceremony will be ready to start in three hours," Blood Mage informed. "Excellent. Let us hope we have no unneeded distractions," Yamu
hissed. Avengers Mansion "Agatha was warning me! We have to go to Fiji. That's where I'm picking up on her life force. That's where we'll find a Son of Set. And I believe it's my son," Scarlet Witch said. "What would a Son of Set be doing in Fuji?" Quasar asked. "Does it really matter? I mean it shouldn't matter where a Son of Set is setting up shop. And he's got Agatha on top of that! Even if he was in Compton I don't think his threat would be any less significant. He might have a couple of bullet holes, but..." Photon said seeing that no one understood her analogy. "Photon hath a wise point. We shalt go to Fiji and confront thou son Wanda!" Thor commanded in a voice that could make the whole Mansion tremble. "We can't go at it alone. The Sons of Set are no one to fool with. We're going to need help and I know just whom we can call," Crystal said picking up the phone, which was close to her. "And why do I get the sinking feeling I know who she's talking about," Jack-of-Hearts sighed. Pacific Ocean "I've never rode in a Quinijet before," Havok said looking around the vessel in an almost childlike curiosity. "We're about to save the world and he talks about what he's never ridden in," Polaris giggled. "Well, I'm trying to not think about the fact that I'm about to take on a Son of Set. If all the rumors I've heard are true these guys are not the type of people you want to go and mess with." At the pilot seat Scarlet Witch turned around, "That is very true Alex. You're not wrong to be cautious. This battle is going to be rough. I can guarantee it." "What part do you think Agatha Harkness plays in all of this?" Blink asked. "I don't know. She mentioned something about absorption. The rest of the warning was jumbled and confusing," Scarlet Witch replied. "From what I do know of Agatha she is quite the powerful lady. Whoever can capture her gives me reason to pause," Colossus said as he felt a shiver gone down his steel spine. "I wonder if all of our flyers outside are just as nervous as us," Crystal laughed. "Exodus, Thor, and Sunfire alone have enough ego for a country! I don't think they're worried at all," Polaris laughed. "Probably enjoying it," Crystal chimed in. "I wouldn't put it pass them," Blink said as she yawned and stretched her arms up into the air. The last time she had faced a threat like the Sons of Set was when Apocalypse had conquered the planet. That threat alone had nearly cost her and many others their lives. It had taken the life of Storm though. How many would this conflict take? "So you guys know if my brother's team is on this whole Sons of Set deal?" Havok asked. "Nope. I doubt his team would be up to the challenge. They're fresh and too raw. Unstable at that. I hardly think they should be taking on a Son of Set. That's a recipe for disaster," Scarlet Witch laughed. "Put a little more confidence in my brother Wanda. He's a fine leader and..," "A fine case of insanity," Blink added causing her to catch the eye of her teammate. "There's some truth in that statement Alex. I mean he actually put Jubes and Emma on the same team. He might as well have asked Cannonball to join while he was at it," Polaris commented. "I trust my bro and I'm sure he knows what he's doing. He's finally doing his own thing and I couldn't be more proud of him," Havok said. "Good for you Alex. Maybe not for the rest of the planet, but good for you," Crystal joked. "Have a heart ladies. Alex is only looking out for his big brother. And we've all had bouts of uncertainty and have made rash decisions. I use to work for Magneto after all," Colossus said. He could understand Scott's current state of mind completely. He is probably confused and not sure where to go so he's just blazing his own path. Hoping that it might take him somewhere worthwhile. "5 miles and closing. Lets get ready to rumble ladies and gents," Scarlet Witch exclaimed as she switched on certain buttons and switched off others. They were about to battle her son. They were about to battle a dark god. He had to be stopped at all cost. Every single person on the world depended on it. Lifting his reptilian head upward the son of Scarlet Witch saw the bird of metal moving his way. Surrounding the machine were four beings and each of them were of tremendous power. He could feel it in his being. Though he could also feel a great amount of arrogance. Putting these children in their place would be of great delight for Yamu. "Blood Mage! Gather your wits about you. We have company," the son of Set hissed. "Of course my lord," Blood Mage smiled wickedly. As the Quinijet landed Thor and the others wasted no time. They flew straight to where Yamu, Blood Mage, and his other servants waited as if they had no care in the world. "Looks like we aren't respected. I'll change that," Exodus said angrily as pink energy flared from his head. Telepathically he entered into the minds of Yamu's four servants that were surrounding him. Blood Mage fell to the floor writhing in pain. Whoever was attacking them was trying to tear their minds down without mercy. He had hardly expected such a swift attack. Looking up with his body trembling in pain the entire time Blood Mage saw that his master was unaffected. Perhaps he had not been attacked. Picking up his staff, which he had dropped when the initial telepathic assault started, the wizard muttered an inaudible spell in an ancient language of his world. Fiery blue flames erupted ferociously from the furious eyes of Blood Mage. Exodus, Thor, and Jack-of-Hearts doubled over in mid-air. The pain they were feeling was like having their guts stringed out before their eyes. Only adding to the danger of the situation the three men, all of three of them suddenly lost their sight. Exodus went crashing blindly into a large group of huts. Upon impact a great plume of smoke and dirt rose into the air. The Thunder God tumbled through the air until his body met up with a boulder. Fragments, large and small, of rock went flying outward across the battlefield. Jack-of-Hearts surrounded himself in an energy field despite the pain that was flooding furiously throughout his body. Unlike the other two afflicted he went careening into the sky. As Jack went towards space the Quinijet touched ground. Scarlet Witch and the others had to watch in horror as three of their own were ruthlessly attacked. Crystal grabbed her shoulder and asked, "What's the plan?" "First we do this!" Wanda exclaimed as she outstretched her hand. The wooden platform that held the four captive sorcerers dissolved like wet clay. Agatha and the other mages rubbed their wrists. They were free. Blood Mage saw this and the expression of anger was blatantly obvious on his face. Capturing those fiends had taken his precious time and besides them being free only meant danger. Danger for him and his master was all they would have to look forward to. Even now he could see the scenario playing out in his mind. Fully understanding this Blood Mage called out to Gandriel and the rest, "We must stop them! Lets go!" The purple-skinned Balrogg leaped up into the air and landed in front of the wizards he had a hand in capturing. Gandriel appeared in a puff of smoke right beside his companion. Blood Mage appeared flew to the platform. Three wizards against four, but Blood Mage still liked his odds. Looking over at Balrogg he could see some concern on his face, but he knew that the blood that flowed in Balrogg's veins was hardly that of cowards. He could handle himself. "You tried to hold us! Didn't anyone tell you that Elfqueen does not take kindly to being captured?" the woman growled as she leaped into the air and punched Balrogg in his jaw. Seeing the battle of sorcerers that was about to take Wanda looked over to Lorna. Pointing to the platform she said, "I've seen do some wicked stuff before. Handle those four sorcerers and quickly!" Lorna grinned, "My pleasure." Reaching out with her magnetic abilities she reversed the blood flow of Balrogg and the rest. A blood-curdling screech came from all three mages and they fell to the ground unconscious. Elfqueen looked at his first confused. She was sure her punch had nothing to do with what had just happened. "We mutant can hang with the big boys-ARGHH!!" Polaris yelled as an energy blast struck her in the chest and sent falling backwards into the rocky ground. Only a couple of yards away from her was Rex. He had altered his hand into a large energy gun. "Surrender! You cannot hope to defeat me!" the Son of Set laughed. Agatha and her fellow magicians would not be enough to stop them. They were merely meant to be food to increase his already massive mystical strength. "You will be defeated!" Sunfire roared as he came crashing down. Flames erupted viciously from his body. He was a living, breathing sun and Shiro was going straight for Yamu. The Son of Scarlet Witch looked up at the ball of flame that was Shiro Yashida in shock. He had not expected anything quite like this. Sunfire hit Yamu with full force. Everyone witnessing the event turned away from the inferno that rose. A great light cascaded across the entire island of Fiji. Trees bowed and dirt turned to sand. Crystal used her powers to keep the flames from reaching anyone except for that Son of Set. She wanted him to suffer. He had every intention of her taking her world and she refused to have Luna grow up under tyranny. She would die a horrible death before she allowed that. Suddenly a great barrel of lightning shot forth from the ground and intermingled with Shiro's intense flames. Thor rose with Mjolnir in one hand and a look of fury etched across his face. He would not fall to this so-called Son of Set so easily. The Thunder God would fight and if he had to he would die. As lightning continued to pour from his Uru hammer and from the sky itself Thor cried out, "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!" Colossus took the full brunt of Rex's energy weapon that he had molded from his arm. His power was stronger than it had ever been before thanks to Gaunt. Piotr could take whatever Rex had to throw at him. And of course the servant of Yamu realized this very quickly. Nonetheless he was going to keep on fighting. Maybe this man of steel would give in. So it was to Rex's great surprise when he felt two massive hands grip his shoulders. Before he knew it he was flying through the air and headed towards the sea. Watching as he crashed into the water, Proudstar couldn't help but to smile. "Guess we got rid of the light work," Proudstar said as he dusted his hands together. "Indeed my friend." "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!" Both men looked back simultaneously. Something about that powerful voice had struck them deeply. In that voice was a powerful calling. Neither of them had ever heard such a commanding voice. Not from Xavier, Cyclops, Cable, or Exodus. None of them had matched the intensity and strength behind that call. And to add to their awe the sight that caught their eyes made them cringe. Surrounding the Son of Set were flames and lightning. The two elements seemed to dance around his snake body. Smoking flesh could be seen through the haze of fire and electricity. It was in this moment that Scarlet Witch called out to them. "Get Polaris out of here! Both of you go!" Scarlet Witch commanded as red energy jumped from her fingertips. Proudstar was about to protest, but Colossus placed a firm hand on the boy's shoulder. He knew what Wanda was about to do. "Get Polaris and lets go!" Grunting Proudstar walked over and hunched Lorna over his shoulders. Peter followed behind him. Wanda knew that what she had just asked those two men to do was probably one of the hardest things they've ever been asked before. But time was of the essence and they didn't have time to waste. Looking over to Blink, who was completely dumbfounded by the sight Sunfire and Thor had produced, she said, "Clarice! Get it together! I want you to get Jack-of-Hearts back down here and quick!" "Alright alright," Blink complained as she created a portal beneath her. She wanted to be in the fight that was to come, but Jack was needed. Clarice couldn't ignore that fact. It didn't keep her from crossing her arms as she slipped through the portal. "Everybody listen up! We gotta hit with everything we got! Don't let up on him! Give your all!" Scarlet Witch yelled out to everyone that was looking on at the outpouring of energy being created by Sunfire and Thor. Red energy came forth from her hands and flew across the open field towards Yamu. Her power struck with colossal force. Havok stood close to Wanda and let loose his full cosmic fury. The energy spiraled to its intended target and hit with even more impact. Screaming could be heard from the mist of all the pure forces of nature. Crystal didn't care in the slightest as she turned her body into living lava. Outstretching her hands lava poured like a high-pressured hose. It mingled and intermixed with the rest of the energies of her fellow teammates. Monica and Wendell watched the spectacle from above. It was their turn now and they weren't going to let their teammates down. Monica turned herself into light and prepared to perform a stunt she hadn't tried since she faced Zeus himself. It had put a hurting on him. She was hoping it would do the same for this Son of Set. She charged towards the Son of Set at the speed of light. Once she made impact she would unleash all of her energy on that beast. It would exhaust her powers temporarily, but it would make that monster hurt. Charging towards the creature she impacted with him in a fraction of a second. A loud explosion could be heard and the Son of Set staggered. Quasar nodded in acknowledgement of Photon's act. He knew she wasn't dead, but her act had been a bold one. Now it was his turn to add to the already massive power being poured on Yamu. Flying closer to the inferno of flames, lightning, mystical, and cosmic energy Wendell began to add the power of his Quantum Bands to the mix. He just hoped it would be enough and this son of a bitch would go down. Agatha turned to her fellow sorcerers and pointed to the barely seeable Son of Set, "Look on my brothers and sisters. These brave men and women came all this way to save US! We cannot fail them. We will not fail them! Attack!" Amethyst colored flakes of what looked to be snow flew from the hands of Agatha. Red knives came out from the hands of Elfqueen. Tiny sapphire diamonds took off from the forehead of Clea. Finally to finish the attack a flood of yellow water-like substance came out of Calizuma's mouth. The mystical energies all impacted the Son of Set and each carried a different effect. The flakes made the flames of Sunfire burn even hotter. The knives cut not only into Yamu's flesh, but his cruel soul. The diamonds increased the intensity of Havok's cosmic energy and the yellow water made the Son of Set feel pure pain. Yamu was beginning to buckle under the assault, but the determination of his father was deep within him. He would not fail. He could not fail. Set's blood flowed through his veins and disappointing his brothers so sorely was not his plan. Failure was just simply not an option. He had to admit though. Never before had he been so challenged. This world would truly be a gem. He began to draw upon his strength. These heroes would pay for their insolence. "ENOUGH!" An invisible shockwave flew from the burnt and broken body of Yamu. It knocked Sunfire and Thor away as if they were flies. Quasar in an effort to get to an unconscious Photon was taken out by the shockwave as well. Stubbornly everyone else tried to continue his or her assault was caught in the shockwave also. In fact the shockwave continued to spread across the island of Fiji. Villages and resorts were leveled as if they were nothing, but a stack of cards. And as the shockwave dissipated Yamu was completely healed. It was as if Scarlet Witch, Thor, Agatha, and the others hadn't even put a dent in him. Of course that was far from the truth, but Yamu knew appearances meant everything. And if he didn't look hurt then whoever survived his shockwave wouldn't think he was hurt. Just then Blink stepped through one of her portals and Jack-of-Hearts followed close behind her. If it wasn't for the young lady he would have flew straight into space and right towards the sun. That was obviously the Son of Set's intent of course. As the two looked out around them a lump settled in their stomachs. One moment the guys seemed to have the upper hand. The next they were all laid out unconscious and hurt. Clarice couldn't overcome the extreme loneliness. Her and Jack was all that stood against this Son of Set now. "Don't count me out of the fight yet," Exodus moaned as he walked up behind the two using his sword as a cane of sorts. He had a large cut down his leg that was bleeding profusely and there numerous cuts around his chest. Yet, the former Horsemen of War was smiling and it freaked the hell out of Blink. "Not like it'll be much of a fight. The three of us even at our fullest couldn't be this guy. We need help and we need it fast," Jack-of-Hearts said coldly. Not a muscle twitched on his face. His eyes were dead set and didn't even seem to blink. Exodus's smile faded away, "He's right. We need help, but who can we call?" "No need to call. We're already here!" a voice boomed from the sky as hundreds of men and women came down from it. Looking closely Jack saw the figure of Apollo. He had to squint his eyes a bit to fully see the man, but he quickly knew who it was. The Greek Gods had come. Maybe things weren't going to be so bad after all. That's when the Son of Set spoke. "Foolish gods! You wish to challenge me? I will show you the true meaning of pain." As Yamu spoke hundreds of Serpent Men began to appear and they were armed to the tooth. He had summoned his army because he knew that he was not yet ready to take on all of the Greek Gods on his own. The Avengers' assault had nearly been the end of him. Not being sure he could survive such another assault he summoned his Serpent Men. "I've never liked lizards," Exodus said as pulled out his sword in front of him. He stumbled a bit as he did so, but this time Bennet would not fall so easily. He had let arrogance take him out so early in the fight. Now was the time to redeem himself. "I'll never get that pet iguana now," Blink laughed as she pulled out her darts. She held one between each of her fingers. "You X-Men talk too much," Jack-of-Hearts remarked as he pile dived into a horde of approaching Serpent Men. Apollo slashed through the crowds of Serpent Men ruthlessly. He had to reach Hecate. He had a plan, but he needed her to execute it. Looking up into the sky the god's eyes turned golden yellow. Mumbling something inaudible under his breath a good portion of the sky turned a bright orange. Fireballs began to reign down from the sky and onto the Serpent Men. The god of the sun could hear their screams as the flames scorched their bodies, but he didn't care. He just had to get to Hecate. "I thank you Apollo. Your attack has began to turn the tide of this battle," Achilles exclaimed as he continued to hack off the various members of the Serpent Men. "You can thank me by getting me to Hecate," Apollo cried. "Of course my lord. Olympian Squad! Lets make a way for Apollo," Achilles commanded. Almost instantly Pereus, Theseus, and the other heroes of the Olympian Squad carved a path for Apollo to get to Hecate, the goddess of witchcraft. "Hecate hear me! I have a plan!" Apollo yelled as he waved his hands in the air to get the attention of the goddess. "What is it Apollo?" Hecate asked annoyed as she made her way to the keeper of the sun. "We don't have to beat this Son of Set. Someone else can do the work for us," Apollo smiled. "What do you speak of son of Zeus? We hardly have time for riddles," Hecate scolded. "Fine. Send this beast to the realm of Shuma Gorath. Let that fiend handle him," Apollo explained. "You ask a great deal of me. It will take a good bit of my magic to accomplish this task," Hecate groaned. "Just do it!" Apollo yelled. "You do not have to handle this burden alone great goddess," Agatha Harkness said as she floated in the air. She was bruised and a little shaken, but her magic was still ready. "Then let us go at this task together!" Hecate laughed as she took the hand of Agatha. The two women's eyes closed and they went deep into meditation. Apollo flew up into the air and he went towards the Son of Set. Seeing what he was about to do Zeus, Pluto, and Ares went to attack the demi-god. Apollo let loose with a barrage of numerous arrows of flame and the king of the gods followed the flaming arrows with his lightning bolts. Pluto let loose black energy from his large axe that impacted with Yamu. He moaned as he felt his very life force being assaulted. Ares leapt up high into the air. He slammed down his fists on the tip of the Son of Set's nose. The monster staggered back. Blink saw the attack and knew what she could do to help. She created hundreds of portals surrounding the Son of Set. Then she moved the portals around the body of the monster using the edges of the portal to cut into the flesh of the beast. Moving at such fast speeds the portals tore apart the Son of Set's skin. Blood poured from the beast. Apollo and the others looked on in awe as the Son of Set was weakened by Clarice's attack. And just when it seemed like she was going to finish him off he disappeared. Agatha and Hecate had succeeded. Yamu was going to be paying a visit to Shuma Gorath. And in his already extremely weak state the Son of Set was dead. He had no chance of survival. "Amazing Blink. Your powers are more potent than I had imagined," Exodus laughed pleased with his Exile. Avengers Mansion (Two Days Later) Jarvis put the large box on the kitchen table. It had been quite heavy and he set it on the table. Thor and Scarlet Witch were the only ones in the kitchen at the time. The Thunder God looked at the raggedy white box curiously. Wanda bent down and opened it up. What was on the inside of it shocked her? "I can't believe it." Thor leaned over and saw the shrunken head of Yamu, the Son of Scarlet Witch. Shuma Gorath had obviously had his way with the monster. Why the ancient wizard had decided to send the head had Thor stumped, but he didn't care. The foe had been struck down. Countless worlds were a little safer. |
